My best outing has been around 55 mpg over the course of a full tank, but on one trip ~57 mpg but damn did I hate how I had to whisper on the gas pedal instead of actually gunning it.

Totally understand. The Miata and the motorcycle like to be thrashed.
LOL, Yeah I have 2, 2 stroke Street bikes, they need to be driven like they are stolen.

Pottsville, Pa -> Delaware Just a couple of east coast 1000ft "mountains" (and amish buggies) thrown in. Wasn't really trying to hyper-mile; just runnin' with traffic.

Short trips are awesome on an already warm engine. Completely level ground. No elevation change. 35 mph. 3 stop lights.

I'll start this thread with a score of 62 MPG over 6.1 miles with an average speed of 18.3 MPH. (Over 2 consecutive trips)

I got this number by sticking to L gear on Eco mode when driving through a small town. L gear maximizes regenerative braking, and can be helpful for MPGs at low speeds.

Since L gear is simulated, you can use it in small towns and still reach higher speeds like 40, though I'd probably switch to D if I were going 35+.
I used to bitch at those Prius drivers with their eyes glued to their dash and efficiency gauge. Now I are one.

You can get any car to read absurd MPG on the trip computer over such short distances.. We need a rule about no MPG posts unless you have traveled at least 50 miles.
Yeah, got over a 100mpg out of a crv loaner the other day but it was 10 miles or less think but did get like 60 something on that 30 mile trip. Know I took pick but can't find :-(

Well, finally hit 800 mi on single tank. Kept getting close in that 720-750mi, but full tank only 55mph and lower roads, not much AC usage pushed me over that hump. Avg for me (now at 40k miles) when I run AC and do highways at ~75-80mph is still in the 50-55mpg. Which is truly insane. Love it.

Similar: I rented a Sentra hybrid for a month in HI while waiting for our car to get shipped over, and after driving it for two weeks/400 miles was shocked when filling it up by putting in less than 6 gallons. It burns up a lot of gas going UP the saddle road, but fully recharges and goes for a long time on battery from going DOWN.

If the Maverick hybrid had at least a 4kWh battery I suspect it would average over 60mpg. (it has a 1.1kWh). But that would depend on how much braking and downhill driving you do in your area.

Yeah I wish it had a bigger battery as well, I know I could take advantage of it on some slower country roads and in the city when there's a lot of traffic.

I suspect its one of those things with diminishing returns where doubling or even tripling the battery size might make a smaller difference to the increase in mileage so it isn't worth it for ford (financially.)

(For reference, I think my last Lexus CT (which is a very small hatchback) had about a 1.5kwh battery and I know I could maximize it better than the Mav.)

Downhill driving has nothing to do with MPG’s.
You had to go UP the hill, either before or after.
Best mileage is on level ground.

I regularly get 50+/-mpgs. But not at 75-80!
Your tires must be rock hard!
Made even harder in this heat!

So far I get 29.5 - 30.8 mpg at 75 mph on full tank highway trips in the AWD. The lowest I got so far was 21.72 mpg on a 90+ mph tank, won't be winning any hypermiling competitions with those results! The dash has read both higher and lower than the real results, usually quite a bit higher, and the skew from reality is quite variable, so an engineering correction factor wouldn't be of much use. I just ignore the dashboard other than as a very rough estimate, but that has been the case in all cars, the cumulative error makes them unreliable, especially on irregular, changing routes. For real results, the 2025 hybrids on Fuelly are currently averaging 34.93 mpg and the EcoBoosts are averaging 23.85.

For 1 year of data - 37.6 mpg.
27 to 43 mpg low/high.

It's too bad they don't have an upgrade for pre-25's that allows getting up to the same 15% power on EV only.

10% power is about half the max discharge from battery at 123 A or 36.2 HP.

So 15% is still 75% of max, and I find a very common level for me to keep up with traffic or slight inclines I'm commonly on. Ya battery would go down faster, but frankly by then I'd be needing the ICE anyway.
I'm guessing Ford found the same info in their data uploads from trucks, hence the bump up to 15%.
In my driving situations it would be useful benefit.
