I have been running the crugens for a while now and am super happy with them.
I'd argue they are much better value since they offer about 80% of the treadwear and performance, and cost about 50% of the price.
235 is better in every way except looks.
245 will look better and perform worse.
Not a huge difference between the two to be honest, but since you have a hybrid, I'd personally opt for the 235.
I don't think its just clickbait from them, it's from Toyota's official US site here: https://pressroom.toyota.com/something-new-is-on-the-horizon/
Also if you actually read that article, Toyota's COO just said:
“It’s a really intriguing segment for us, but the whole segment right now is...
I like D the best as well.
I think most people here will want the simplest, cleanest, most OEM-looking fogs.
That is why the look of the Diode Dynamics fogs is popular.
I assume its Extended Range Electric Vehicle and it's a similar concept to the Chevy Volt which was a good idea in a poor vehicle, but it was the first so it's expected.
Number one biggest issue with the F150 lightning is range, and this will help fix it.
Now hopefully Ford also gives us a...
this is true too. If you search 235/70/17 maverick here or youtube, you'll see a video.
I personally run that size on my hybrid because I got a great deal on that size.
They should be fairly similar to the tried tested and true 245/65/17 and performance should be about the same with little to no...
I personally wouldn't. I vaguely remember looking into that size and they seemed very heavy given their dimensions.
I'd stick to the 235/65/17 and then upsize to 245/65/17 when the stock tires wear out.
Or sell the stock tires and upsize to 245/65/17 if you feel the larger tire look is worth it...
Of course Ford will survive, I doubt Toyota can eat Ford alive in the segment. But they do have a good shot at taking a decent amount of market share.
Also, If you're going to do a sales comparison, you should at least compare apples to apples...
F-150 vs Tundra
Ranger vs Tacoma
Maverick vs <TBD>
Ford DOES have something to worry about since its adding another contender to a market currently occupied by only two vehicles.
Smug attitude when the Tacoma is killing the Ranger.
I'm not as familiar with what they could use against the ecoboost, but yeah I've heard terrible things about...
245/65/17 is generally accepted as the biggest you can go without major issues.
Search the wheels/tires section and you'll find tons of info. The larger you go, the bigger hit you'll take to fuel economy.
I dropped 2-4 MPG going from the stock 225/65/17 to 235/70/17. Probably about the same...
