Like others, at this point in my life I want the bells and whistles. A big part of wanting the acc and other driving aids was the plan for us to hand this car off to our youngest in a few years when he goes to college. I wanted him to have the safety features.
Look at CanCoat evo if you want a single layer coating that is really easy to use. I applied CQuartUK 3.0 and Gliss to my Maverick for three layers that should last more than two years.
We had a 2017 Civic that my son took off to college and now we have the Mav. They park in the same a lot in the garage. We have a wheel chalk mat. We have to pull over the front of it for it to fit so there’s the distance in length. Gotta say I like the Mav better?
Yes as far as being able to use both. Not an expert by any stretch but my understanding is that PHEV usually have bigger hybrid batteries than hybrids such as the current Mav.
Finished up the coating process today. Applied CarPro Gliss over the coating. It is supposed to help with water spotting prevention and give a really slick surface.
all that’s left is coating the wheels with DLux and Gtechniq coating on the windows.
Applied two coats of CQUARTZ UK 3.0 that should last more than two years. Have to wait 4 hours to apply the top coat Gliss to improve hydrophobicity so that may happen tomorrow.
Till I can get better pictures off my camera, here’s one from my phone.
Always gone with trucks = masculine vs cars = feminine…
Mav is named Hank after the county extension agent on green acres.
Btw, my other car is a black Mini JCW cabrio named Keira. It replaced a Jag XJS named Maggie.
It can be either way. I’m in the process, slowly, of applying CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 (a 2-3 year coating) on my Maverick. One of the easiest to apply of the coatings is Gyeon CanCoat Evo. Then there is the turtle wax, griot’s, etc SIO2 wax/sealant hybrids that last almost as long but don’t offer...
Do you care about swirls on your paint? Legitimate question as apparently many don’t. If you don’t, automatics are fine. Personally, I have been doing rinseless washes at home for a number of years. Easy, takes good care of your truck, and uses very little water. Look up on YouTube or elsewhere...
Really depends on the dealer. There is a wide variety in products used, talent involved, and cost they’ll pass along. I’m doing it myself but it does involve some learning and some tools.
