Spot on. The only thing I'll add to the discussion is that is that if you live at either temperature extremes, I'd caution away from hybrid for EB. I'm mixed local and highway and much closer to 45 mpg average over 60k miles. BUT, through winters it's much more like 35-38. The hybrid does NOT...
23 Hybrid. Rolled past 40k mi Monday. ONLY gripe is how often I open the driver door with my hand and inadvertently lock the door otw out. I laugh and tell Cody (truck name) he's fucking hilarious locking me out.
Well, finally hit 800 mi on single tank. Kept getting close in that 720-750mi, but full tank only 55mph and lower roads, not much AC usage pushed me over that hump. Avg for me (now at 40k miles) when I run AC and do highways at ~75-80mph is still in the 50-55mpg. Which is truly insane. Love it.

Sorry about the accident. Glad you seem to all be in good shape. Please do keep the community here informed with any other details. My kids are older and all but the last is driving themselves, but I also play dad taxi to groups often and really share the concern of you and others about the...
Also in Indianapolis. With the tonneau cover for my Maverick, I chose to go even cheaper with just the full length BedRug. Been very VERY happy with it through 1-1.5 years and 24k miles. Allows me to not scratch anything up, but still do truck stuff like bed tent camping, hauling furniture...
I'm picturing repurposing the motors of something like a sit-stand desk (they make industrial works benches that are rated for 800-1000lbs loads and can move 36-48"). Slow, lots of torque so you use/setup break-beams or hall sensors at the stops. Or do some micro-controller work with positioning...
Great work so far. I keep thinking about something similar to this; but using electric stepper/motors and hall sensors to have a one button open close assist. Also, I'm more inclined towards tent/fabric as the walls, so simple bungie to assist in keeping the material out of the closed/ratchet...
24k miles on mine (Hybrid XLT). Still about 50% tread left. Gentle city/hwy mix, occasional long trip at 80mph. Not a fan, but not horribly disappointed with them thus far. Planned replace at 40k if they'll make it.
Interdasting. As someone who has also confirmed that this happens overnight (checked door unlocked and opening in evening, locked by AM with keys sitting in drawer all night...numerous times), I'm curious to try this next time it happens. Which is just reach through and check the lock tab and...
Yep, can confirm it works out nice for a quick over-night. Big tent on the ground, little pop up for me in the truck bed. Easy in/out by just sitting on tailgate which is the tent door. Need to find a nicer mattress pad or think air mattress that rolls up as small/light as this tent.
Haven't had the need to, but think there is an "Exit" in the apps tray (grid/context button x2). Using that gets you out of AndAuto and back to base home screen.
On the radio thing, I've also had it happen 2 or 3 times. Alternatively (and a little less troublesome) you can hold the POWER and SKIP/FWD buttons for 5 seconds to do a hard restart of the entire infotainment system, without having to shut the truck down/off.
And to the auto-locking...yes yes...
Anyone get this and can confirm that the fit is close enough to make it work? Modifications needed?
I picked this up (was on clearance / deal for $24):
Quechua, Instant 2 Second Pop Up, Portable Outdoor Camping Tent, Waterproof, Windproof, 2 Person - Walmart.com
Should pop up and fit in the...
Glad I'm not the only one! Got an oil change pending, so will have to bite the bullet and get the 2 recalls (indicator and break lamps are the 2 pending) done. Cross fingers and hope for no negative behaviors after.
After many, many 600-650 tanks, finally managed a 700 (726) tank. Spurred on by more traffic than usual on my commute = slower speeds = 50-70mpg instead of a few 30-35 (when I do 75-80mph). That and the temperate/mild time of year, so no temp control going at all or very little for the entire...
Agree with everything said above. Trouble-free 23 hybrid thus far. Loving the gas savings, but AWD version would have me running, not walking to dealer for trade/swap.
Yeah, for my in flatlands (midwest) Eco still the way to go. But, I take great advantage of the regenerative braking and re-use of the energy (takes a soft'ish foot on the accelerator and paying attention to the gauges to keep in "Electric Driving" as much as possible. Same roads, same basic...
