Definitely some truth to that. I can’t remember ever having recalls on cars in the 70s and 80s when I started driving. You do know I’m clowning a little bit. I realize that there can be contaminants in the oil and there can be engines that do blow up, but I do have a lot of faith in this Maverick hybrid to run it 10,000 miles between changes easily. I think I mentioned before I had my first change at 9500….my next at 19,000 and my third at 28,500. So far so good on my way to 200,000.The original Maverick engine was bulletproof. Modern engines with all the mods required for EPA & CARB States are potential walking time bombs. Toyota, GM, Ford, etc have had to recall & replace more engines these days than they ever had to in your dads era!
