Regarding flashpoint IN GENERAL.

NOT SPECIFIC TO ANY ENGINE OR BRAND OF OIL:

Flashpoint of 300°F (150°C) or higher is considered suitable.

Some will want to argue "suitable" is a long way from "ideal". Ok fine. Please don't argue.

I feel 365-370°F is a long way above "suitable".

To me, it shows that even a 12k OCI is still remarkably conservative for your use case.

And more importantly - you have a happy little 2.5L.

Well did ya use 50 weight?

Better check!

450 seems unreasonably high.
Blackstone says the average for used oil in gasoline engines is 380 and 410 for diesel engines.

Water in the oil, or some additive you added are the ways flashpoint can go up.

May be a typo? Yours was higher than virgin oil?

This was Motorcraft Full Synthetic 0w-20. No additives.

Blackstone will also tell you that the flashpoint test itself is more of an indicator rather than something that can be valued in a vacuum.

I think it’s also worth noting that the specs listed are their minimum acceptable specs. There will be some variation.
