The Bronco. I’ve been obsessed with it since 2019 when we started seeing concepts. My family had one as a kid and I’ve always liked jeeps. Fun/Practical is always what I want. My wife and I just can’t afford it right now. I drive a Flex and it’s value is abysmal. I’m hoping the Maverick will satisfy the itch and hold onto its value some so I can trade into a used Bronco in a few years.
TLDR: Someone please give me a bronco!
Friend, a Bronco is not a Jeep. If you've always liked Jeeps then get one. They are fun but not safe or practical - the mileage sux. Our 2004 Jeep Wrangler is great for Death Valley mine roads but is an antiquated beast for modern highways. It mostly sits in the driveway until we take a desert trip.

After doing the deepest dive ever on the Maverick and small-mid sizes trucks it’s mind blowing how the Tacoma blows the doors off every other mid-size truck. It’ll be interesting to see their small truck once they see all the Mavs on the road.
I have done a lot of long distance desert trips in the Tacos. Mileage is not very good and we have blown out both front and rear differentials at very inconvenient locations. I am not impressed by the 'door blowing'. I'm thinking more Tacos sucking.

Chevy Volt. I have a minivan and a Miata, looking for a commuter car which is gas friendly for when the weather isn't top down friendly.

Maverick hybrid is amazing as a commuter car which is also a great weekend car- for trips outdoors or to Lowe's.

Was not in the market. The Maverick reintroduced the segment and brought me into the market with it. Before the Maverick I was looking at ways to increase the practicality of my Mazda3 hatchback.

I had a Subaru WRX until someone wasn't paying attention, rear ended me and totaled my car. I thought long and hard about going back to WRX. The Maverick caught my eye.. I started looking for one and couldn't afford to wait for one. Bronco Sport had some appeal, gave up om the Mav. I finally got my settlement from the WRX and needed to move pretty quick. I stumbled on one when I went to look at a Bronco Sport. A customer changed his mind about his Maverick just before I got to the dealership. Alto Blue, XLT and 90% how I would have ordered one anyway. I was all over it like a chicken chasing a June bug.

F-150 Lightning. I want to go electric, but I'll admit that even my Mach-E is a hassle when going any further than Calgary-Edmonton in the cold. I can get both the Maverick and Mach-E for roughly what I'd expect to spend on a long-range Lightning Lariat with the panoramic roof, and I lucked out on the Mach-E since it was dealer stock and immediately available. The Mach-E's also a tight squeeze in my underground parking spot as it is. I can't imagine the Lightning lasting a month before I rub it up on the pillar or my neighbour puts a door ding into it.

That leaves the Maverick arriving by the spring, which is about when I expect I'm going to actually need the bed and trailer hitch.

I have been and am still quite happy with my 2003 Ford Sport Trac. It's gonna be hard to part with it. But as the odometer keeps climbing I thought it was time to look around. I watched for the release of the Ranger long before it came out and was disappointed with the price and size. I might have considered a Frontier, but probably a used one. Then when the Maverick hybrid was announced and a low $20k price came with it, it was time to pull the trigger. I ordered in late October, so expect it could be May before I get my Mav.

I was looking at an F150 Lightning until I realized that it would be a pain in the ass to park in my garage spot and that there was no place to plug it in. Then I was looking at used Rangers. When the Maverick was officially launched and I realized I could get a new truck (although with a 4.5 foot bed instead of a six foot bed) for a few grand more than a 10 year old Ranger with 40-50K miles on it, I was intrigued enough to put a deposit down.
