Three weeks ago I started the process of getting a Bronco Sport because my grand marquis was starting to fade. The dealer said they would work with me to get the price close to my mav order price due to its delay. Well went back to the dealer that weekend and instead of working with me to lower the price, they increased it 5k. It was as barebones as you could get on a big bend trim and they said the push button start was one of the reasons for the markup plus " the going car market." Declined and later that day bought a used Mazda 3 Hatch Grand Touring edition with 30k miles for under 23k. Fully loaded and comes with more features than my 22 Mav. I might end up just letting my Mav order go and stick with the Mazda. ZOOM ZOOM.

Currently driving my '96 F150 when it snows and then my Smartcar'08 as the weather gets better...but the Bronco is enchanting. I will wait and see what happens. The Cleveland Auto Show has a Maverick but if I go and see it I'm afraid it will depress me....so I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

So, as it sits my order is confirmed but that is all - I am already thinking it is going to be close to six months so I am hopeful. I have confidence in the dealer where my order went through but, I have also started looking around for other vehicles - it is a virtual desert out there almost to the point of frustration. I got lucky this past summer when I walked onto a Subaru lot and drove off in a new Crosstrek which is now the woman's car. I made a hasty decision and sold my 2020 Civic to buy a Mav which leaves me my venerabe '06 F-150 until I can get the Maverick. I started looking at other choices and they are not available either - Toyota Tacoma TRD, Rav4 TRD, Nissan Frontier. Everything is pre-sold if I find one. Just curious what your back up plan is if you can't get a Maverick right now?
I went ahead and got this Hyundai Santa Cruz and I really like it.
