Manufacturers will just raise the price to match the tax rebate. Unless Chinese EVs can flood the market significantly cheaper.
The best way to protect North American manufacturing would be tariffs like the chicken tax but for EV instead of trucks.
Nothing wrong with protecting domestic...
The entire luxury package is amazing. Makes such a great little truck. Love the heated stuff seats, wheel, mirrors. Remote start. 6 way seat. Spray in bed. Extra tie downs. Siding tie down. Interior and bed plug. Trailer hitch.
Man for the extra cost its amazing.
Sad for sure. Very weird market. My guess if you sit out a few years a better vehicle will come along. Might be a better Maverick or another sweet ride that fills your needs.
It takes a bit of time for other auto makers to catch up. Price was a big factor in my purchased decision. Ford already jacked MSRP from when I ordered in Oct 21 to pick up in Jun 22. The window sticker was 35 CAD and I paid 32 CAD.
So if price goes up again by alot will the Maverick be as...
General public is confused. Auto manufacturers are going to use this to their advantage. Ford lumps hybrid vehicles into the "Electrified" segment on web page with pure EV.
Smart marketing.
Yup don't have hybrid parts. Who wants to bet there diverting Maverick components and materials to Lightning or other higher priced products.
From the beginning the Maverick Hybrid is a vehicle no one wanted to build but consumers really wanted.
All manufacturers are trying to promote there...
Old school shifters are no longer needed. Its all electric. So just need a way for the driver to select what there doing. I'm getting use to the dial and don't mind it. Jumped into wife's crv and initially put my hand down looking for the dial.
People just don't like change.
Not that anyone...
Crazy satisfied. It does exactly what I wanted and need. Love finally having a truck bed. Need to pick stuff up from home depot? Get some fire wood? No problem. Take the family camping? No problem.
Fuel economy makes it practical for me to own. I laugh at all the larger trucks driving around...
I still find it amazing any vehicle that most consumers want is a year or more out if ordered.
The vehicles people can buy today is like the last people being asked to the prom.
You will fit. . . I'm same hight around 190 lb. Fit great. Seat is a little uncomfortable. Ford needs to work on that but it has nothing to do with height.
Ridgline and Maverick are not competitors. Maybe some overlap.
The Maverick sits in a space all by itself. Santa Cruz competes.
Size, Price, Fuel Economy Maverick wins.
No end in site for supply constraints. My guess is all vehicle manufacturers will continue to limp along in 2023. So guess 2023 will be like 2022.
Some 2023 will get rolled over into 2024 like the 2022s.
I'm assuming no major surprises. Might even see less vehicles built 2023.
