Since the cheapo alarm the dealer installed was disconnected I haven't had a deep sleep on the original battery.
Pull the cover off the passenger side fuse panel and see if anything has been wired in.
Lots of dealers put these in in hopes of an upsale.
It's worth a look people.
that is true, I have mine yet removed. Although the dealer disabled the Karr Alarm prior to handing it to me.

I took a chance on the EverStart H5. It's a big boy but it fits. Don't even try without removing the plastic storage. I hammered the tabs down so I could undo it later if needed. I hope this is the fix.

Thank you for posting pictures.
I have been wondering when the time comes what size, I would replace my battery with.
Am I correct, in assuming that you can not replace the plastic cover?

guys, I don't even have a hybrid but I wanted to post this here for anyone who doesn't have Forscan. especially for the people who have looked at Forscan and decided that's not something they feel comfortable getting into.

any time you replace a battery in a late-model Ford, you reset the Battery Monitoring System. it's easy and it's supposed to learn the battery type and capability automatically. I don't think this is the same as tweaking it in Forscan, but it's extremely easy. This is in the owner's manual.

Battery Sensor Reset (Battery Management System (BMS) Reset):
When you install a new battery, reset the battery sensor by doing the following:
1. Switch ignition on, and leave the engine off.
Note: Complete Steps 2 & 3 within 10 seconds.
2. Flash the high beam headlamps five times, ending with the high beams off.
3. Press and release the brake pedal 3 times.
The battery warning lamp flashes 3 times to confirm that the reset is successful.
So messing with forscan is not necessary when switching from the stock battery to an AGM? All you need to do is reset the BMS and you’re good to go?

according to Ford, that is right.

it's supposed to do various charging and discharging tests and figure out if it's a flooded or AGM battery. I have not checked in forscan to see if it's working as designed.

I Installed the ACDelco LN1AGM battery in place for Ford's OEM BXT99RT4-A that was in my Maverick hybrid.

The LN1AGM weighs 32.5 lbs, the BXT99-R is 27 lbs.
They're nearly identical physical size.
The LN1AGM has vent holes at each end of the battery for connecting the vent line and comes with a plug for the unused vent hole at the opposite end of the battery.

How's the ACDelco holding up? Any more issues with deep sleep? Getting fed up with my OEM battery now that it stays on for less than a minute after the truck stops running.

No problems. Put in last Nov 22. Charge it twice a month usually ~ 1st & 15th.
Sitting at 12.71 volts this afternoon.

Hold that. Apparently there's an SSM/TSB to address this finally.

Very nice. Looks like I have to hold off for now. Apparently there was a TSB issued very recently for 12v battery drain on hybrids. SSM 53087. Maybe they're finally taking care of it. They have a procedure for charging and resetting the battery management system but ultimately there's a software fix coming Q1 2025 to fix an underlying software issue.

Hello. I know I'm a bit late to this 'party', but just to clarify . . . does replacing with an AGM battery necessitate a Forscan modification?
