Just in:

2024 Ranger Raptor price starts at $56,960
Wonder what it ends at. Does everyone still use the 35% rule if not financing? If so, that means you should have a minimum income of $163K to entertain a base version. Even going by household, which is combined income, that eliminates 94% of the US population. With cars getting ever more expensive, I have to wonder who is buying them all?

I think the Tacoma is half the truck the new Ranger will be in terms of engine performance and ride.
They know how terrible people complain about the engine the IFORCEMAX has to win over a good amount people still. The hybird option and mpg numbers will be paramount for them. They need people stilll want to new tacos. Its one of their best selling cars or trucks. They dont want people settling for 2022, 2021,.

Pretty sure the Maverick’s rear seat does fold down flat. I believe many were hoping to see a 60/40 or 50/50 design. Much more convenient, but remember, “price point”.
The rear seat does fold down more than I originally thought it did, but it does not fold down flat. I know because I just went outside and tried. I also agree that the 60/40 split would be preferred with the underseat storage. I don't have a need for car seats, but still helpful when you have stuff sitting on the seat.

34k for 4x4 hard to beat right now . The xlt sport is the winner I think once peices comes out . ..
$34K is for a 4X2 not a 4X4.

I hope this has all the same features that the Colorado has available at the WT level. Chevy gives you a lot of truck for 38k if you load up a WT. All that means we might get some trickle down and finally get ACC for mavs.

Truck looks good, better than the old nose. The only think I don't like (old and new version) is why it seems to be so high sprung. Seems to sit awkwardly high. I know it is for clearance, etc, but it seems like it is on its tippee toes so it can hang out with the full size trucks. Other than that, looks like a nice redesign.
Yeah I thought the same thing with the current FX4 Ranger- Tippee toes all the way- Weird looking

No long bed or access cab. No hybrid or tremor. Starts at 34k for 4x2? Most competition starts at 30k.

As a good bit of the guys on the ranger forums are, I’m very disappointed.

Don't expect a Raptor Maverick
Yeah, not terribly surprising. Assuming we get additional maverick performance models, I expect them to be street performance variants and not off-road monsters.

I think it's a just as good, if not better, truck right now for what that's worth. Just doesn't have the level of built-in loyalty anymore. Maybe that's a consequence of taking it off the US market for 7-8 years. Doh! :)

Why Ford doesn’t put 4A in the Ranger (not including the Raptor) is beyond me. The redesign seems nice but that’s a major feature that people who live in rainy/snow climates would love to have. The GM trucks have 4A, so I thought Ford would match them.

If you’re looking for a truly nice midsize truck I think Ford dropped the ball on the Ranger. The GMC Canyon is much much nicer. Ventilated seats, push button start, heated steering wheel all can be had with the middle trim, the AT4.

Oh, and Ford still put the keypad above the door handle and not in the B pillar, looks so cheap and like an afterthought.

Honestly, I feel like Ford intentionally holds back on the Ranger so that people will buy the F150 instead.
It that's true (no 4A available except Raptor trim), you're right, that's a BIG whiff on Ford's part, and will remove a lot of potential customers from the buy list, including myself. Very disappointing.

I'm hoping the pre-production info isn't 100% yet.... 😬

I do like what I see. It was way overdue for a total redesign. And it's great they included a Raptor version because that's guaranteed to sell really well. But it's also guaranteed to sell for $15K-20K over sticker for sure!

The exterior design is where it truly shines. It no longer looks like a car-truck with rounded edges. It now has an upright appearance and brawny styling. The interior looks great as well with a vertical touchscreen. Very Tesla-esque but with physical climate control buttons to counteract the big screen.

However, the starting price is a bit steep at $34K. Considering its newest competitors start in the high 20s, it's not a good value. I read the articles on MotorTrend and they said Ford plans to include the SuperCab and long bed sometime in the future so it's not totally out of the picture. The initial release will focus on the better selling SuperCrew cab and short bed and eventually the other variants for fleet buyers. I'm sure a cheaper starting price is bound to come as a result.

Some complain about not having petty features such as a sunroof or ventilated seats but it's not really a concern for me. A sunroof robs headroom and is one more feature to break overtime, and a lot of mid-size trucks don't come with ventilated seats anyway. I'm sure the new GMC Canyon and Toyota Tacoma will but they never had them for a long time. Plus, I'd rather have heated seats for my back.

I do enjoy my Maverick. I'm not in a big hurry to get the new Ranger. It's a lease so I'm debating about what to do. I'll either keep it or try to get another Maverick. If not, a Ranger maybe considered but a Lariat of that would be too unaffordable. I'm guessing they'll start around $44K and that's almost 10 grand more! No thanks!

Absolutely, and let’s add insuring these overpriced vehicles.
For my wife and myself, these inflated prices of new vehicles makes keeping our current vehicles much more important.

The point about complaining about the lack of "petty" features is that many of those features become standard or expected over time. At one point in our lives not too long ago, power windows and remote locks were "petty" features. Heated seats have most recently made that transition into something that is expected as standard in most trim levels at this point that was "petty" just several years ago. The times, they are a changin'.

Ford needed to have a Lariat loaded with every major feature/package/option they plan on having available so people can see what to expect over the coming year/generation. But they didn't and they didn't speak to any of those features in any of the release articles. And that is disappointing.

Sunroofs and ventilated seats don't need to be standard, but - in a newly redesigned vehicle in 2023/2024 - they need to be available.

They did the infotainment, climate controls and dropping the dail shifter for a tiny upright shifter all preferable to Maverick design, used a easy to source tablet screen dimensions display better than any Ford so far ( granted I only looked at Fords I could buy ).

Do not care for the already T-boned side panel look. But a long flat panel would also look wrong so not sure what to due with the changes to front and back that improves the Rangers look overall.
The under rear seat storage is less than Maverick which I find odd.
