What is an extra 6” of bed for?
I have had a few items be just an inch or 2 to long to fit with the tailgate closed. Granted I could still carry them with tailgate open and strapped down. Just would have been nice to do it without needing to put the tailgate down. I have basically moved a full house with the Mav over the past few months...

Looks good! To bad they don’t have a hybrid version. Though I would love the next gen Mav hybrid to be awd with a 5 foot bed.
I could see Ford doing a shorter hood on the next gen maverick to keep the same overall size with a longer bed and slightly larger cab. As long as it didn't go full cab over with its design, those look like ass, I'd be fine with it.

They did a great job with the redesign. Not too "Transformers". I'd love to see a hybrid option, as well as a sunroof......
If you need sunroof OEM then Frontier, Tacoma, Canyon, Colorado, Ridgeline, Maverick, Santa Cruz offer factory sunroof. Webasto is good choice for aftermarket install on Ranger.

Looks nice. Will they be actually making these, or are they going to join the ranks of Mavericks and Broncos and be the things of legends and winning lotto tickets?

I like that the rear seats fold down flat. Something we've been asking Ford to do for the Maverick. Maybe for 2024

My Maverick should show up next month, but depending upon optional packages for the Ranger I might jump ship when the order guide is released. I think the new Ranger is a big step in the right direction from where it was, but I was still very let down by a lot of things that it didn't have in the reveal (ventilated seats, moon roof, grab handles, rear vents, etc.). It's 2023/2024, Ford: act like it!😭

All the details here:

Regular Ranger starting at $34k. Seems like there wont be any real overlap over the Maverick going forward.
I wouldn’t think Ford is going to push out a vehicle that cuts into the Maverick’s market. The Ranger has its own slot in Ford’s truck lineup. If you’re drooling over a new Ranger, then the Maverick probably wasn’t the truck you needed.

Why Ford doesn’t put 4A in the Ranger (not including the Raptor) is beyond me. The redesign seems nice but that’s a major feature that people who live in rainy/snow climates would love to have. The GM trucks have 4A, so I thought Ford would match them.

If you’re looking for a truly nice midsize truck I think Ford dropped the ball on the Ranger. The GMC Canyon is much much nicer. Ventilated seats, push button start, heated steering wheel all can be had with the middle trim, the AT4.

Oh, and Ford still put the keypad above the door handle and not in the B pillar, looks so cheap and like an afterthought.

Honestly, I feel like Ford intentionally holds back on the Ranger so that people will buy the F150 instead.

Pretty sure the Maverick’s rear seat does fold down flat. I believe many were hoping to see a 60/40 or 50/50 design. Much more convenient, but remember, “price point”.

Don't expect a Raptor Maverick
Andrew Frick, Ford's VP of sales, distribution and trucks, said there are no plans to slap a Raptor badge on the Maverick,, That's an everyday truck that customers don't really take off-road.

This would be more exciting for Ford if the new Tacoma wasn’t going to absolutely crush it. People love them some Tacoma.
I think the Tacoma is half the truck the new Ranger will be in terms of engine performance and ride.
