Good portion of Americans were bred to be bootlickers of corporations and things not in their best interest. Ford has f*cked up numerous steps in this Maverick process, boggles my mind that anyone defends them at all.
Their only fault was not giving the Maverick its own plant. Just on the name recognition alone they should have done that. The old Mav sold a crap ton cars. The SUV is big in South America. They should have gone bold and would have met demand. But every single other problem they have had is a ripple of the fact that it has to share a factory with another model.

That is pretty much what I emailed my dealer on Thursday when all this hit the fan. We had a call scheduled for noon on 8/3 (he is out 8/2) to "roll me over". I emailed him and said that I was fairly confident the new September info is accurate, but I would keep a close eye on all the Ford Forums on Tuesday to see if the banks magically opened on 8/2. If so, I was keeping my appointment to call on 8/3. If they don't open.....I ain't calling.

No reply from the dealer at all. Either confirming or denying what I was claiming.

Not trying to argue with ya, but you are moving the goal posts a bit here. You said "Official is when Ford stands up and puts their stamp on it", and I point out that Ford DID put their stamp on it when it sent tens of thousands of dealers the release dates. That pretty friggin official. I mean, the email came from Ford Motor Co and the bulletin was posted on FoMoCo's webpage.

Now you are saying it has to be a release "to the public". 1. I disagree with the premise. 2. When Ford tells dealers 'here is the date you should tell your customers', that is a defacto statement to the pubic.
They also stated publicly the Tremor could be ordered in August.

Fair enough. I'll acknowledge my intent of the previous post did not match exact wording and left ambiguity. Appreciate the civil dialogue. My main point is until Ford goes on record to the public its hard to get too upset.

I have stated numerous times this has been a hot mess. But I call a spade a spade. On this one I get it. I'm in management for a construction company. I wouldn't be real happy if we were working on finalizing the turnover date, that was leaked to the client and public, then we get skewered when we realize it's not realistic (or there were reasons for it to move). Wait for the official release from the horse's mouth before crucifing. Of course we wouldn't be days or even weeks out before realizing we're not ready so frustration is understandable.

They also stated publicly the Tremor could be ordered in August.

Yeah, that is a black eye if not true. That is a public statement, and it's back down. Hope they pulled down due to the order date and not because they are hoping off on the Tremor Package. But we don't know officially August won't happen (they can move again). Also many posting fire and brimstone did before that came out.

I think the main point that we see differently, which is OK, is that I believe Ford giving the dealers the date IS pushing that info to the public. It’s not like it was a “for internal use only“ memo. It is what the dealers base their communications with customers on.

I get that, and it's a difference of opinion we have (which is ok). Honestly I think it's a game Ford is playing. Spread the word but don't take responsibility. But if the source of the data won't say it to me directly (via quotable sources at least) I keep a lot of doubt it's accuracy. It's why I started a thread last week on how Ford was announcing things. I should have stuck with my gut then to believe it when it's said directly to me.

With the new order date I'm curious 1) when the 2023 price list will be out, and 2) how Ford will prioritize orders. After the '22 orders are completed will the '23 orders be based on order date, or will other factors such as model, destination region, features, clout of dealership influence it? With high demand I'm not sure if they will try to clear all the special orders first, or do so at the same time as sending vehicles to dealerships to encourage additional sales.

Just got done checking my order. Ford Chat says ordering starts in Aug. Why would Ford not send out an e-mail update?
