I just keep a Battery Tender Jr on my mine all the time. I have it connected to the jumps posts under the hood. Everything that I own that has a battery has it's own Tender.
Mav, RAV4, Yamaha 400 and Slingshot.
High revving, naturally aspirated, manual transmission.
Sounds like my 2018 Polaris Slingshot. Noisy, windy, dirty, no heat, no AC, no power brakes, no power steering. Punch it in second . . OFF WE GO. Fun on three wheels.
Sometimes the big CEO's need a jab in the ass to get their attention. When the lawyers start talking $million$ law suit, they tend to at least come out of their coma and look around.
I'm also on a forum for RAV4's. Had I listened to all the problems on there in the last 7 years, I wouldn't have the car. As it is, NONE of the problems talked about have affected mine. In fact, I'm keeping it for when all the dire warnings on this forum come true, and my Maverick goes...
I feel comfortable with my Ford. As long as Toyota keeps building cars, that is. The first time the Ford gives a hint of trouble, off to the local Toyota dealer I go. Probably in my 2017 RAV4, since I will want to look around. So many vehicle, so little time.
I was driving in Decorah, IA. Rolling terrain and in-city speeds. Electric up the hills and charging going down. Perfect for a hybrid.
I'm getting 40mpg overall.
When you drive down the street with your $1100 each rims, do people fall over, point and yell, take pictures? No. No. No. NOBODY CARES. Except when they nudge their buddy and say, "Looka that. The rims are worth more than the car." Nobody cares.
Yes, the winners have to pay income tax on their winnings. I would bet that many "winners" have to sell their prizes to do that. And, at prices way under the value of the prize.
While they are jumping up and down, that $10,000 tax bill is not what they are thinking about. Plus the question...
Hell, I used to pass cars with my clapped out, 100,000 + mile, 1949 Chevy "slop oil" "stovebolt" six. (Which was in the first Corvette.) It's all relative.
