I saw this on Amazon and wanted to make it easier to change my oil (on 2022 Hybrid) so I thought I would give it a try, Frencstr Engine Shield

I installed it today and the oil drain and filter line up great with the access panels, no more removing the entire shield!

This is NOT metal - it is a very thick piece of plastic, approx 1/4".
This is the material description from Amazon;
  • Premium Material: Plastic steel is a kind of PVC profiles, due to its physical properties such as rigidity, flexibility, corrosion resistance, anti-aging performance, is usually used as copper, zinc, aluminum the best substitution. And is especially suitable for automobile chassis protect.Greatly extended the service time of the product.

The instructions that were included was not correct for the Maverick, so there is a couple of "bolts" that I need to relocate for the front mounting points (see last pic with the correct bolt replacement from Amazon.)

That's slick. Talk about Convenient.
Once installed, only 2 screws to change your oil...

instead of 15.

Pair that with a Made in the USA VOTEX quick oil drain plug and your set.

How can you not like that👍
Still looks like you might need a funnel or one of those drain valves but that's fine.
Having one screw to remove to change the oil filter. I may go back to spinning on a new oil filter every 5000 miles and a full oil change at 10,000.
I use a cup style oil filter wrench so no problem with clearance.

Thank You for posting.🤝

I wonder if no vent for the PTU on an all-wheel drive would be an issue with overheating the PTU
I think the OEM vent also channels air up towards the turbo too on EB’s.

The OEM cover is sturdy and each cutout has a purpose I’m guessing. I don’t mean to poo poo on the aftermarket covers however.

I do my own oil changes & the OEM cover really is not that bad to take off and put back on.

If I did use an aftermarket cover - I would also remove it when changing oil. Need to inspect for any leaks from multiple places.

Also, oil shoots out several inches when plug if first removed. Positioning & repositioning the drain pan is a fun exercise. And while I hand tighten my filters - sometimes a tool is needed to loose. Trying to get a tool into a cutout can be a pain.

I’d recommend keeping your OEM cover in the garage somewhere if you do go aftermarket.

Its interesting that the manufacturer states this only works on 22 to 24. I wonder if they know for sure it wont fit on the 25+ or if they simply have not tested it.

Anyone with a 25+ want to order one and report back?

Would not be the AWD guinea pig on that one. The extra cooling vents are on the OEM part for some engineering reason and it points to the PTU.

If I had FWD I might bookmark it for later. :)

Anyways it seems that if the Rival fits all years of EB, this one should fit all the hybrids - maybe the manufacturer knows it's not suitable for use with the newer HF55 transmission? 🤷‍♂️

Rival makes 2 different models for the EB’s - current Gen & 22-24.

I do believe all hybrids use the same model though.

Their website shows the different models…

Oops. I did mean the hybrid plate from Rival.

The Rival plate also does not have the "ventilation" openings like in the OEM model, interesting.

I was just getting ready to post about this splash cover. I'm glad to see someone has some experience with it.
What year is your Maverick? Information says it's for 22-24 model years. Yet someone posted on Amazon that it works in 25.
