I’ve taken vehicles to dealers for service. In some cases, the tech would remove a dust cover or splash guard to gain access to an area, but not put cover(s) back on, just pitch them. Oh, that’s not good…ridding private property?

I return to dealer explaining what happened. They saying covers not necessary, required. I countered the mfr put them there for a reason, and they need to be located, or new ones put back on. Dealer barked. I called LEO, saying stolen property…..dealer heard, then relented, says will install covers.

Shook em up.
Way to go Cajun.
Waiting so long for these trucks and Paying for every part and bolt on them and they are just gonna chuck this piece in the garbage ummmm no sorry get my part out the bin and put it on. Engineers designed that part for a reason.

I am planning on the inexpensive marine "deck hatches" under the oil filter and the drain plug. Turning handle valve on the drain plug. It is so easy to dump your oil, and change the filter every other time if things are accessible, and not worry about the overtightened, stripped-out drain plug, cheaper than expected oil and filter, etc. We live in an area where one needs to climb a 4000' hill to get home, and there have been those who did not survive the "oil changer" type service to get over the hill. Old school I know, but if you want something done right....

Well, I may be slow, but I'm slow.... just finished the dual catch cans today and the oil pan cover is next. I am thinking of putting them on facing DOWN so that they won't be unscrewing and falling off. That means a" reverse thread" to undo from the bottom, and maybe a hole in the middle with a nylon cord so it is impossible to lose the screw in part. Have a littler one for the oil plug, as I am installing one of those oil drain valves . Reach up, pull the lock, turn the valve, relax.... After a few more miles I may go to changing the filter every other oil change, and that access has to be bigger to fit the wrench and filter.

I have that saved, lol. But my shield looks different? Has a large square hole cut already? I have two thumb turn cam locks I’m hoping will work
And I have hybrid. Cam locks won’t be here till Tuesday, I measured oil filter location, and it looks same as pic from thingyverse. My panel missing large part near drain plug is goin to mean just removing more of the panel, not sure how my foot plan is going to work with material missing. Almost ready to cut

been married A LONG TIME................and she wasn't home when I did it........it worked out for the most part and now I have 3d printed covers for both areas, but the LARGE opening caused issues with that cover working, so it's just open for now where the oil can be drained.

I’d be like I purchased a vehicle and all the parts it came with. I’d like those pets back or please reimburse me the price of said part.
but I do like your version where the authorities are involved lol
