if you're not on the recall list and you want piece of mind crawl, under with a flashlight and make sure the ball-joint stud is fully engaged into the hub. Then go have a beer and relax- there are ~ 2400 ? Mavericks affected out of all the trucks built before June 2025. If you're on the list...
I was not talking about the ball-joint in the control arm, it is not a separate part. I meant the ball-joint stub into the hub. The pictures shown show this stub not fully engaged as being the issue and the reason for the alert.
looks like they see if it is fully seated. if not, then they loosen the pinch-bolt and jack-up on the ball-joint to engage fully engage into the hub and then tighten the pinch-bolt??
for it to cover multiple years is strange- there must be something in the assembly process of the lower control arm that must be variable or there is an ongoing tolerance issue with the parts involved- this can happen again, in the future applications that use the lower control arm assembly
tailgate is the same as a door- you can lock/unlock with the sensor on front door handle (3 raised lines), the fob or the Ford app. As stated, the Lariat has everything, don't let anybody sell you anything other then the sunroof or sliding rear window ($995, 350).
a 2026 XLT with the same options is $34,115 on the website and you would still have to add $115 for a spare tire. Though they have employee pricing currently. $28,300 for an XLT HB is a good price. I'd say throw in the floor liners and we have a deal
It appears to have a nicer interior like the Santa Cruz. R/T version seems to be in line with Lobo. To be cost effective, they have to build it here. Stellantis quality is not the best. I know, numbers say Ford quality sucks. I'm still leery of a Ram (Dodge). 2028-2029 could be crazy- Toyota...
XL interiors look better than XLT- when I was looking I wasn't crazy about the XLT fabric+ the recycled looking door-card and dash panels- reminded me of something from Fisher-Price. Then I found the Lobo, problem solved. BAP also makes the interior better- uses XL and Lobo panels
2027-2028 Maverick will have no major changes- gen 2 will be out in 2029
maybe:
New exterior colors-2 ?
body colored bumpers - Lariat
Hp bump on hybrid and EB - 10-12 hp?
new seat fabrics, updated guage cluster, new wheels
Ford is not going to spend much on an outgoing model
