I posted last week about my dead hybrid Maverick. I took it to the dealer and they did a bunch of software updates on it, checked a fuse and the wiring harness, and then replaced the battery. It seemed like the problem was solved until once again I came out to a dead truck yesterday morning.

I even disabled wifi and FordPass after the battery was replaced in case that was draining it. I have a hard time believing this brand new battery was bad from the start as they tested it and said it was perfect.

I called the dealership again and they said they can't get me in again for 3 weeks! This is so frustrating because this is my only vehicle and I have a 40 mile commute to work every day. There's no reason this should be happening in a 3 month old vehicle.

Bummer, see if a different dealer can get you in. The issue with mine was the gateway module had "bent pins" and when they replaced it they replaced the battery too and no issues so far. Best of luck to you!

Get a jump box for when you are away from home.
Get a Deltran Battery Tender Jr for when you can plug it in. Hook it up to the under hood terminals.
DO NOT get a cheap generic battery tender. Get the Deltran brand.

I agree this shouldn't be happening and FORD clearly has no interest in actually solving the battery issues many of their vehicles are currently having and have been for years now. Sorry about your situation. I think the best thing you can do is buy a jumper like a NOCO one.

Hey there. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you have been working with? I would like to help get to the bottom of your Maverick's electrical issues.

I'll just say the battery tender/battery jumper was not a solution for me. I'd hesitate on wasting your money. (Battery jumper was a great investment nonetheless) Often times my truck would start but not stay running until Ford preformed the gateway module fix for me.

Hmmm. How about Texas.gov/lemon laws and/or an attorney? Just in case this continues to go sideways, you'll know how to document it and what your rights and responsibilities are.

Please post the number of times you have been asked to help, and the number of times that you actually solved a problem for a Maverick owner. I have read a few posts stating that they sent you the information requested and never got a reply from you or their dealer. I'm sure I would not be the only one on this forum wondering about this.

Useless bot is useless. Ok, well, it's a human, but all they are doing is collecting data and locating the closest dealer.

You are defiantly not the only one wondering. Thanks for asking for the rest of us.

Best I can tell this "Ford" guy just collects info, I'm assuming plugs it into a database somewhere. That's it.

Does Toyota have similar issues with their hybrids? My 2023 XLT is doing OK...so far. But this is my first Ford since I purchased a 1979 Pinto (in 1979) for $3990. I came back but admit reading these forums is giving me second thoughts.

These folks got ahold of me- All they do is ask captain obvious questions and try to call the dealer on your behalf- They have zero clout with the actual dealers and they probably just end up annoying most everyone with useless phone calls, case numbers that mean nothing/etc- Nice folks but they just create waves without any actual results.

Deep sleep / battery saver mode is pretty common across all Fords (google will show you) but completely dead is less common.

This is pretty much my first Ford as well. So far I have had one deep sleep notification and I hope I don't resort to jump starts etc. Because that is unacceptable for ANY new vehicle.

There is a ton of information out there and my overall take is that Ford's battery management algorithm combined with crap 12V batteries results is many of these issues. Obviously for someone to be on their 4th or 5th battery has something much more going on.

Based on my observations if you you don't drive much or do frequent SHORT drives you will simply not be able to maintain proper 12V levels and eventually after x # of days you will have some issues. To those saying that is true with any car....I beg to differ with my other / previous vehicles.
