On my "23 XLT, I try to remember to simply press the temp-select knob prior to shutdown. This turns the entire HVAC system "OFF". (fan also)
Start the truck, reverse the procedure.
Maybe this is a solution for you?
Kinda late to the conversation, but.....
I believe this to be a truly non-partisan issue.
If you use it...pay for it.
The application of this user fee is done by morons so be prepared to get angry.
That..is so awesome. By removing the rear seat/seatback you've gained a bunch of space that I have kinda forfeited.
Nice work.
Dogs...make us better people.
I put a small plywood sheet over the rear sear seat, installed 2 1"x1" legs in the front and a 2'x4' between the plywood and the most aft portion of the rear seat (it slopes down). Add some carpet padding and I have a deck large enough for my 2 Golden Retrievers.
Underneath in the foot wells is...
I am growing weary of the deep sleep issue on my '23 XLT. Yea, it starts, but I paid for interior lights and connectivity. Either the battery fails to charge properly or the battery charge system is inadequate. Parasite draw may also be contributing. I dunno.
I know my dealer lacks enthusiasm to...
Years ago I purchased a new Honda. When pickup time rolled around I noticed it had 150 miles on the odometer.
I refused delivery.
I waited for another with .8 on the odometer.
Customers often have no leverage, sometimes we do.
New is new, used is used.
You bought a used truck.
Also, and this is big, Ford or the dealership will choose the arbitrator.
So...how ya think it gunna go down?
Nobody likes lawyers, but it how we used to settle differences: litigation baby.
Now.....
I had the same work done here in Charlotte (absent the window work) for $1200. It was a 3M product I think. I've been doing it to my vehicles for over 10 years and love the stuff. It can be nicked at highway speeds but they everyday sand blasting of highway driving is negated.
I tend to be difficult. Having said that....screenshot any notice of deep sleep or battery mode notification. Present these to your dealer and ask for repair to be under warranty. Note refusal and notify your BBB, notify Ford, call your Mom too.
In general...be a pain in their butt. Maybe...
Go back thru the carwash, hot water followed by hot air dry will probably melt the freezer. Then do the blow-dry suggestion to push away remaining moisture.
Then..let your truck get dirty until spring.
The tech only did what the Service Mgr told him to do. The Service Mgr. was doing what Ford said they would do under warranty.
What makes sense doesn't happen.
What happens doesn't make sense.
...and that makes sense to Ford.
Your truck...do it.
As a fellow Regular Army type...I had always thought the Air Force was the best branch, they sent their officers off to die, not us enlisted types.
