I check my inbox every Thursday
Hoping for a message to say
That my Ford Maverick is on its way

But all I get is silence and delay
No confirmation of a production date
No assurance that it won't be late

I wonder if today will be the day

Good morning I hope you get your truck.
For the wait has really begun to suck
And I fear that we all may be out of luck.
But check you email regardless, to see if that email has snuck

I have no faith that I will get picked today. I left an honest post on my dealerships social media site Monday stating my concerns that they are "about the customer" (that was their post I commented honestly on)...when I never get updates or any news on my order or anything in general from them even after almost a year or waiting.

Sales manager called me yesterday pissed off asking I remove the post...and long story short after 30min call...he mentioned that all the orders were placed fairly, followed by 20 seconds later, me asking him if all the orders were the same priority code (without any rollovers from 22) and he paused...stuttered...and then said that there were business decisions that were made in a few instances, but then stressed all the orders were placed fairly. I then mentioned that if I was a big spender or multi-repeat buyer I would have had a better chance then, and he scolded me for using the term "big spenders" as offensive and unprofessional, and that "relationships" is appropriate and skirted to answer.

So even tho on day 1 I was informed I was one of the first orders placed...a few months ago I found out I was near the bottom of the list...and now hearing this...means they played favorites with a lot of "relationships" and placed a lot before me. He claimed I am at the top for the 2024s tho, but I asked how can he be sure if more "relationships" come in to order a 24, why wouldnt they just get put above mine again...and he skirted the comment and said that it wont. Either way there are still a bunch of vehicles in front of me yet and I am pretty much done expecting to get picked this year. Pretty bummed to now finally know that dealership favorites were placed ahead of my order and it had nothing to do with constraints or anything like that. Dealership just put others as priority over me.

how do you know others have a higher priority if they don’t update? If all the orders have the same priority code isn’t it up to ford to just select? Just curious. My dealer putseverything at 11 and (probably) will elevate someone to 10 if they are a valued customer, but that’s the way of the world.

I hate to say it but that's the way of the current system works. You can almost guarantee all dealers do this. I'd recommend placing a 24 order with another dealer or even multiple dealers. Priority code is important but allocation is king.

Agree.
Also allocation is #1 over priority. Then priority only matters if your order is not constrained. I imagine a lot of priority 19 EBs are being scheduled over priority 10 Hybrids.

I understand its the way of the world and figured a couple may have gotten bumped ahead of me, but being told I was one of the first on day 1 of ordering banks, that it was a good sign (I assumed everyone should be same priority code). But when I would go in for service every 2 months or so (I do a decent amount of driving) I would go and talk with my sales associate (as I was already at the dealership) asking if there are any changes or updates. I was always told, just to wait and when it gets scheduled, I would get the Ford email and the dealership would also be aware at the same time. Nothing like what Tim continuously posts and streams with information. Always things changing and updates.

But with the constraint items of this and that on one week and not the next, I was skeptical that maybe my vehicle could be previewing but had this or that on it which (if removed) would have been scheduled. (I do have a pretty loaded order). One of the previous times I had service, I asked the associate to see how many orders they actually have left, and thats when he came back and said there are 42 and I am 37th. Finding that out and how many allocations they get was like pulling teeth from them. They didnt seem like they wanted to tell me.

But without me asking on my own, I would be just sitting at home for a year or so with just a couple emails from Ford and thats all. Not a single contact from my dealership with any general updates or anything like that. But again, "one of the first orders" to bottom of the list means that they put a good chunk of people before me. That's what hurts. And I have been a longer term customer to this dealership of 13+years of constant service. I only bought 1 vehicle but 95% of all the work done on it was at the dealership...so I may not be buying vehicles every year or every other year, but all the work done on it is by them...

@gator_dub i agree with placing multiple orders at different places. And I was aware allocations are king. I guess I was not aware or ever made aware that a ton of other orders were going to be given priority over mine. I figured early order even with small allocations = better chance....vs my.... tons of orders before me now with small allocations = no chance....
