This right here proves my theory, that the elect motor works with the ICE if needed. When I place my truck in sport mode, it will break loose the front tires, and pull with authority much more than what Ford publishes. I'm not a stranger to high-power cars... I wonder why Ford doesn't really publish a high value...
If you’re looking for even more oomph get a Pedal Commander. You should be able to get a used PC18 for around $150.
The truck was even quicker than in Sport mode but without the quirky Sport mode shifting. If you’re into hypermiling their Eco mode also yielded better results than me doing it on my own, but it was painful to drive that slow lol.
Unless Ford designed the power percentage gauge to just mirror pedal position, the Pedal Commander is doing more than just advancing WOT like most critics believe.

Sport mode (with the programmed fake shifting) is going to slow you down. Just "feels" more like a traditional vehicle.

What is interesting is the 0-80MPH run, a difference of .1 second according to the data presented 😊
What info like this doesn't show is time to distance, at this point the EB will be quite a few feet ahead of the hybrid.

Not so sure....hybrid doesn't lose time shifting. I don't doubt the eb is faster, I just think it may be faster than you think.

Tenths of a second matter on the race track.

On the track to work, not so much.

How can the Ecoboost go 0-90 in 15.8 seconds and also run a 1/4 mile in 14.5 @95mph?
Definitely a typo, it probably should read 13.8 to 90, my personal runs at the dragstrip gave me 14.61 @ 93.2, the only other time & speed given on the timeslips is 1/8mile which my best was [email protected]. Other info listed is also suspect, it doesn't take an EB 3.5 seconds to get from 60 to 70!

In that high torque band, my hybrid went 20 to 40 MPH in 2.33 second.

Edited for precision
Disclaimer: no sophisticated timer, just an iPhone video on the speedo.
I used digital speed, freeze framed the video, and counted frames.
2sec plus 10/30 frames 20 MPH to 40 MPH. 70 frames at 30 fps.

Yup, it just gives you some quick bursts, but nothing meaningful. I do like to use it when I'm trying to get the truck to warm up, since it forces the ICE to stay on.

... they've engineered it to put out more power for brief periods like the 'high HVB SoC/low HVAC load' trick.
What is this trick you speak of?

The hybrid will ALWAYS be behind the EB. While its faster in some very specific ranges it is slower everywhere else and over any drag or roll race that is not limited to its best zones.

I'm just happy the hybrid isn't slow and can't wait to sell my EB and get into my Hybrid.

The hybrid will ALWAYS be behind the EB. While its faster in a single zone of 45-65, it is slower everywhere else.

That said I can't wait to sell my EB and get into my Hybrid.
You can beat the chest if the EcoBoost all you want.... I'll beat my wallet, which is one area that the hybrid will ALWAYS beat the EcoBoost.

I guess you missed that I bought a hybrid.

And I guess you missed where I said "I don't doubt the EcoBoost is faster"

So you are arguing with yourself in a single comment. Gotcha.

I mean they literally said "a few feet". They didn't say truck lengths.

If the vehicle is started near peak HVB charge (>~66%) then the max EV output is temporarily something like doubled. It's not that typical for the battery to get that high unless the ICE was running the whole run previous like a short trip in ICE warmup, or Tow/Sport mode.
