The lack of ability to select a gear or lock out higher gears.
I drive a lot of back roads at 50-55 mph. The transmission shifts into 8th which puts the RPMs at 1300 and the engine lugs. I change to sport or tow mode and it shifts down to 6th or 7th which fine. Annoying to fiddle with the modes all the time to get the proper gear.
Replacing the "L" with a +/- would be a huge improvement.

For me, it has and will always be: the under-powered, recall affected, glitchy infotainment system in the trucks without Sync3/4.

I have had my 2024 close to a year now. It is an XLT with luxury and black package. I really like and enjoy the truck. But as with most vehicles there always seems to be one item that bugs the heck out of you.
My one item: I can't believe Ford didn't put power windows with one-touch up. Ughh! Every time I go to a drive-through I curse that I have to hold the button while driving off. My 2013 CRV had one touch up and down. That is my one gripe.

What is your one pet peeve about the truck that you would change if possible? Just mention one please. :)

Question, do the BAP or lariat wheels cost more? I ask because I feel the power coating & then machining the face would cost more to do than just powder coating wheels.
Tremor prob more expensive as multiple colors on the wheels

My 2024 Lariat, I took delivery off on January 31, 2024 ran and shifted properly until mid November 2024. The truck currently has over 8,000 miles. Out of nowhere, and just like you describe, when I drive between 30 - 45 mph the transmission shifts into an excessively high gear causing a very annoying deep drown sound when the road starts going slightly up hill! This can only be corrected by flooring the gas pedal. I took my truck to the dealer I purchased the truck from, and dropped it off to take it for a test drive. The message I received once they were done: "there is nothing wrong with your truck. We did a diagnostics and nothing unusual showed up"! Rest assured they never took the truck for an actual test drive. I then decided to make another appointment and insisted that I test drive the truck with the transmission specialist in the truck. Before I even started the engine, and after once again describing the issue, the transmission specialist immediately confirmed that the described characteristics is normal. The onboard computer over time learns the driving habit of a driver and that there is nothing which could be done. I then called Ford Customer Relations, and that was a total waste of time. I was told that I could not be connected to a transmission specialist and the only option left was to take the Truck to another Dealer. I did and this dealer fixed the issue! They reset the onboard computer for the transmission to factory setting!!! I was then informed to get in touch with them after driving for approx. 500 miles. The name of that Dealer is Bill Tally Ford in Mechanicsville, VA! As I left the dealer I right away noticed the difference. No I am keeping my fingers crossed.

That's funny. I installed the tailgate assist and here in Colorado in winter it goes down so slow you have to help it along. In summer works great.
Hahaha that is interesting. Mine is on the UPS truck but I'll prob wait until a bit warmer weather to install it.

are you talking about the cost of Ford (or their supplier) making the wheels, or are you talking about the price of these wheels on the secondary (used) market?

I assume you mean production cost. Which is not the same as price, if it is a standalone option or included in a package.

BAP wheels have a uniform finish so that likely costs less than other wheels with a multi-part finish and yes, Tremor is the only wheel that has 2 different colors powdercoated.

Lariat wheels, for any year, have bright machined surfaces and powdercoat both. The shiny parts are clear coated and the black areas are powdercoated.

Regarding package price, in 22-24 there was a standalone option on Lariats called 18" black-painted machine-faced wheel" which cost $795. I optioned it because I think it looks far better than the standard 22-24 18" lariat wheel, having seen it on the '22 First Edition hybrid.

Did this wheel that I paid $795 for actually cost Ford much if any more to produce than the standard Lariat wheel? No, I would guess that it did not. I gave Ford another $795 for cosmetics alone, LOL. (Note: in MY23-24 all matte black version of this wheel was in Black Appearance Package. Mine's better looking. :D)

All four windows on my Lariat are one touch, love that I do.

My pet peeve is having to hit the ok button every time I put on seat belts.
Why are you hitting the OK button after seat belt warning light??? It goes away once all belts are done up.

thank you for that, and yeah that does make sense

but what bout replacement oem wheels? because I was wondering if that 1600 BAP package, was factoring in the BAP wheels costing anymore than lariat wheels.

ie. lets say 500 bucks worth of interior worth, 500 worth of roof paint, and maybe 100 per wheel premium over lariat wheels.

dont know, because every time ic lick between wheels it says gotta pay 1600 extra. but if lariat wheels actually cost MORE than thats interesting, I cant find part numbers on the current 2025 models. so maybe 2024 wheels have a price difference, black vs lariat, vs tremor as replacements. oem

nah. BAP is just cosmetics, and if you like it and can afford/justify it, you buy it. you can't really try to value-justify it because it really doesn't have any functional differences, it is just cosmetic. you can get the mostly-black interior in Tremor or Lobo also, and Lobo 402A is a good value considering all MY25 options.

btw if a person strongly disliked the navy dash in BAP or these other mostly-black interiors I would suggest buying a black dashmat. 🤷‍♂️

ooo question.

Ive seen videos of BAP and lariat on YouTube, but due to colors/shade/lighting.

is the dash and door trim the same tan color? or is the Bap more dark gray instead of tan in the regular lariats. if its just black seats, and same dash and doors, thats kinda crappy but if they are indeed darker trim pieces, thats nice touch
