It’s unacceptable. Orders should be fulfilled in the order they are received. If you don’t have enough of something you don’t offer it. Plain and Simple.

My DD is a F150. It's tough to park in town because the spaces are really small, takes $170 to fill up and gets 14mpg. I'm still keeping it for longer trips, but will using the Maverick for all the around town errands.

Now that I'm almost four months in, with another four or five to go, I've been asking myself the same thing.

Missed having a truck about 5 to 6 times a year.
Bought a 1977 Toyota Hi Lux pickup and was good but when I got married sold the truck.
In 1995 wife wanted an automatic so got Dodge Dakota without A/C and died in stop and go summer traffic. Then bought 2003 Dakota 4 door as the family was bigger, but commuting 135 miles a day made me say uncle in 2008 with high fuel costs and bought a used loaded 2005 Sebring that stuck to the road. Then my dad died in 2016 and bought a stripped basic 2014 Camry from my mom.

Really looking forward to having a truck again. Liked with the hybrid would not give up great gas mileage. Like the ideal of a SUV unibody as do have a bad back and neck for being in the services in an airborne engineer battalion. The step in height and bed is a plus. Then could get it almost loaded and still being able to afford it as being around 30k. Ordered Lariat, lux ,360.

It fits in my garage with room to move around it. If I parked it outside I may have opted for a bigger truck.
Same here. My garage clearance is 73 inches so the Maverick fits with a few inches to spare.

I needed a newer car to replace my 2012 escape hybrid. I test drove a VW id4 and chevy volt but didn't have a love connection. I had a late day 1 reservation for a lightening. I didn't bite on the rivian or hummer because $ and the cyber truck was just ugly. I didn't love the new escape but considered a plug in hybrid of it and test drove one, and got down between the mach e, the mav and the phev escape. I reasoned out that the mav was a lot, lot more utility and practical than than the mach e or escape. The mach e was the sexiest and most exciting but not as practical by a long run for the things I like to do. My commute to work is about 30 miles and there is free charger there so pure ev or phev was attractive. I like to camp and hike and kayak. There are no roof rails on the mach e or trailer hitch. I mean the mav was sort of a no brainer and I first reserved on June 13. I held on to my lightening reservation. I almost caved and bought a mach e off the lot at one point while I waited. In December I got tired of watching people who ordered after me being scheduled before me and I ordered a jeep 4xe, it is a plug in hybrid that would be OK for getting me close to work at least, and the off road capability was really alluring, but it costs a lot more. Right after I ordered that my mav was scheduled. I didn't get the first wave of lightening order invitation and I haven't heard from the jeep and I have a window sticker for the mav now, so it looks to me like the mav is going to win and I am excited and happy for that. I kind of miss the mach e and the jeep 4xe I never had but I don't think I will miss them long once I actually get the mav. I am going to keep either the lightening or 4xe reservation and sell them maybe based on the market, I think the lightening. My wife won't let me keep all three! LOL I told her that the silverado reservations were opening but I wasn't going to get one and she said "GOOD!"

My DD is a 2012 CRV. I love this thing, I loaded it at one point with 500lbs in gear helping my dad move into the NH mountains and it did great. At times thought I wish I had more utility and ground clearance. I got this thing in a few situations where I would almost scrap on dirt roads and had to go slow to avoid any damage to the undercarriage.

This is where the Maverick XLT Fx4 I am getting comes in. It will have better ground clearance, better payload capacity and can tow up to 2k pounds (non 4k tow package). Overall it will be a better vehicle for my needs with the same gas mileage as my Honda.

1. Need for a utility vehicle for family and DIY activities.
2. Price starting point
3. Need for a hybrid system in order to commute 75% highway 25% stop/go traffic
4. No need for 4wd nor towing.
5. “Bragging rights” of owning a “unicorn” 😜

Sold my new Ram last year for a profit, nice truck but too big and thirsty and wouldn't fit in garage.

Maverick hits the mark, affordable, great on gas and spacious for what it is. Just want I need, can't wait to get it.

I know we all have our own reasons for choosing Maverick over other vehicles. Assuming of course you have already made your choice and aren't just coming here looking for info. If you are hopefully this post helps you make your choice.

When I got into the market for my next vehicle I had a lot of things I was looking at.

The pricing was a part of it, for sure. The lower the price the more creature comforts I can add. A new Maverick, moderately well equipped, costs about the same as a few year old used Ranger/Frontier/Tacoma.

Gas mileage, well, I remember $5 a gallon gas back in 2015. That's part of why I sold my Jeep Cherokee and bought the little Kia I'm about to replace.(whenever they build my Mav hybrid, lol) I don't want to be in a position where gas money becomes an issue again. I'm too old for that $@%*. In my case thats why I chose the hybrid.

Lower ride height and bed height. I'm 5'5" and my wife is 5'2". I'd rather not need a ladder to climb into my vehicle, or to reach into the bed. In my work van I have to carry a small step ladder to reach the roof rack, and its annoying. Same with getting into the bed of the F250 Super duty at work.

The bed itself. I am not someone who uses the bed often, and when I do its small things usually. A run to lowes or tractor supply for stuff. Rarely if ever would a 4.5 foot bed be too small. If it is, ill take a sheet of plywood and anchor it to wooden crossmembers in the bed, strap it in with a set of tie downs, and Boom! temporary 8 foot bed.

The ride. From everything I have found out so far the Maverick rides more like an SUV and less like a truck, because of the way its constructed. My wife has a bad back, a smoother ride means less pain for her. I'm a fan of that.

The creature comforts. One thing that was a must have is heated seats, once again for her bad back. Works wonders on mine too, but I'm more concerned with her then me. She is also a big fan of having a sunroof. The fact that one is available relatively cheaply was a big bonus.

The activeX seats are also kind of a must for me, as I have grandkids that would stain up cloth seats in less time that it has taken me to type this.

There are those talking about "low end materials" in the cab. There is quite a bit of hard plastic in the areas that aren't commonly touched. I see that as a bonus. Easier to clean and maintain. Hell, it could be painted sheet metal and I would be OK with it.

There are a few things that I wish were set up differently on Maverick though.

I would like to see an AWD hybrid. Not for me personally, but for those living in snowy climates. FWD is good in the snow, but AWD/4WD is better.

A broader range of customization than just the two tiers of luxury package. There is a lot that I am getting with the package that I don't really need but I have to take it to get what I want.
Heated seats are a must for me, and so is the activeX material, so I really had no options as a hybrid buyer. Its probably done this way to simplify manufacturing, but still slightly annoying.

Tow hooks should be available and fully functional for all models. If you think only people out four wheeling get their truck stuck you have never been thru a snowstorm or hydroplaned on a wet road. Lots of reasons someone could end up in a ditch, I would have gotten a tow hook upgrade if it were available. Sadly, Its not for us hybrid folks.

I may think of more later, and I'm sure others will add their pros and cons in the comments.

The only decent looking compact truck.

Sure I could scourge the country for a used one thats not produced anymore, but for under 30k ill just get a brand new one with a bit of tech features old ones do not have.

Same deal here. Even with all the discounts, I couldn't find a comparable Canyon/Colorado within $5000 of the Maverick. With that money saved, I will probably put that down on a small 18' bowrider for the summer inland lakes here in Michigan.
