it would have to be the 84 F150 Lariat with the two tone paint, 4x4, and the 351 4bbl HO and the 4 speed T18.

I'm 74 and I have bought 5 F-150s in the past 20 years. Bought the last one in December 2022 and came down with long term Covid 10 days later. Got to where it was really hard to get in the truck. Ended up trading for a Maverick Lariat in July 2023 after I had only put 2000 miles on the F-150. I do love the Maverick. Rides good, easy to maneuver, and easy to get in and out of. To me, it's a tie. Love them both!

While the F-150 is a “real man’s truck”, I’m sticking with the “boy toy truck”. I don’t need a full sized truck. An F-150 usually requires running boards. I prefer the height of the Maverick. An F-150 is a gas guzzler and is one “workhorse of a truck”, but I love my little hybrid truck!!

I loved my old Mazda mini-truck but wanted the modern features. I could have bought any truck although not that many would have fit in my garage. The Mav hauls what I need to haul now and is a lot easier for me to get in and out of than bigger trucks. Never had all the safety features before but I have to say I like them. Love the push button start, the sat radio, and the ability to answer calls and texts via voice. My mileage is better than I get in my sedan so I am pleased with that. Plus it is a lot of fun to drive.

The F150 and the Mav can carry the same 1/2 ton of cargo (consists mainly of air in my case 95% of the time). The F150 is wider, comfortably allowing 3 passengers in the back seat - the Mav is tight back there unless they're children. The F150 has a 5.5 foot bed with a longer one available in certain trims, the Mav 4.5, I consider that a wash since my old 93 Flareside SHORTBED is 6' 9" long. Towing goes to the 150 without question, the 93 is rated to tow over 3 times what my Tremor is rated for. MPG is a win for the Maverick, my Tremor is getting 25MPG and people here are reporting way more than that with the Hybrids

Price?? F150 is way to expensive IMHO

Point being is comparing the two is the same as comparing a house cat to a lion... they're in the same family tree but different branches.

Well I currently own a 22 lariat powerboost, and recently picked up an xlt hybrid. I love them both but as a daily the mav is tough to beat! My lariat has a much plusher upscale feel, and hauls my dirtbike with tailgate closed. Also has the 7.3kw generator. The mav is fun to zip around in the city and hauls mountain bikes great with tailgate pad. Funny that my under 30k mav has a heated steering wheel while my 60k f150 does NOT!! WTF.

If I wasn't worried about money or MPG it would be the F150 for sure.

I had a choice and it was the Maverick. I like the F150 but no longer need a large truck. I have a good size garage but an F150 challenges that. The Maverick is perfect.
