I have always liked the Ridgeline ( both generations) . But my biggest concern Was that the fuel economy of these were really not much difference from an full size truck. It always turned me off of the vehicle. ( for reference I did have a 2013 Acura MDX that used the same drivetrain. Terrible fuel mileage in the city/mid 20s avg on the highway. Oh and needed premium)
My wife has a 2019 Ridgeline AWD. It gets on average at least 5 MPG better than an average full-size half-ton. On pure highway driving it might get 8-10 MPG better.

I would disagree on one piece of this. For a mid -size truck it drives nicer, parks nicer, rides nicer and has amazing trunk storage. So if you want a mid size truck but want the drive experience if a nice SUV, it's now the only thing in the market. This is where is believe Honda his milked it for so long. No competition in the mid size market. But now Ford will be cutting into some of their market with the Mav bc there was no smaller option.
Agree, Ridgeline is absolutely a mid-size, and in no way could you compare it to a full size. It is the easiest to live with of any of the mid-size trucks because of handling/MPG and overall comfort. I think what hurts it the most is the looks. It looks too much like an SUV for the typical truck buyer's ego.

The Ridgeline is absolutely not mid size. It is much closer to full size than mid. Insisting on comparing it against smaller trucks only shows how afraid Honda is.
Nope it is midsize, I own one. Not even close to full size in any way.

Cherry pick much? How about towing capability, legroom and shoulder room? Overall length? Wheelbase? And the beds on the other midsize are 4 foot wide above the fender wells. Yes the Ridgeline is the roomiest midsize... That is by design and not because Honda is afraid.

He's ignoring the fact the Ridgeline is a FWD unibody platform, which automatically gives it an advantage on interior room and bed space.

He's an idiot.. not worth arguing with.

According to Honda, the Ridgeline was not designed to steal sales from the more traditional trucks sold in North America, but was developed to “give the 18% of Honda owners who also own pickups a chance to make their garages a Honda-only parking area.

Desperate much?

Dimensionally, the Ridgeline is most like a short bed full size extended cab, by design, because Honda saw Nissan's mistake.

Ridgeline is full time AWD moron. Yes, unibody is so advantageous Honda only had to make the Ridgeline 0.8" narrower than the Ram, and 4.2" wider than the Tacoma.

Neither of the quotes you attributed to me are mine. They were said by jmav. Not saying I agree or disagree with either. Not sure why you would change the font that is attributed to a quote you are citing...

Bringing up an old thread, but for those saying the Ridgeline is closer to a full size truck....have you driven a full size truck? The Ridgeline feels tiny compared to them. 20" difference in length between a Ridgeline and crew cab 150. The nose on the Ridgeline is shorter and easier to judge vs the full size trucks.

Ridgeline is imo an excellent size and I'd hop on it if the bed wasn't so shallow. By the time my Maverick order is at the dealership I'll renegotiate with a honda dealer and if I can get an RTL for $10k more than my Maverick, I'd consider it.

The 40k-45k price point for ridgline is too much you can get 23 Colorado trail boss decked out for that, or ranger etc. They have kinda out priced themselves heading into 23-24.

Those aren't geared to the same consumer. These "you can get ___" for that comparisons for completely different vehicles are silly. You can also get a Camaro convertible for that price as well...

Yeah, your average Honda fan isn't going to pick up a Colorado Trail Boss. I don't see the value of the Ridgeline for what they're asking, but I imagine their sales will be just fine.

It has 1inch longer bed at 5'3 while Colorado is at 5'2. The major difference is the interior but the Colorado gives you more capability at that same price point. I guess if you really want more interior space ridgeline is the truck but if you want more utility the Colorado will be the one for you.

I did the opposite from Ridgeline haters. Owned a Maverick XLT hybrid for six months. Towed twice for DEAD BATTERY issue and now it’s a fire hazard to be parked outside until they drill holes to drip fluid out.
Traded in for a 2022 Ridgeline EXL and dealership gave me six grand more for trade-in than I paid for my base Maverick. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. Can’t compare both vehicles as they are not in same class. Try comparing the Ridgeline with Chev Colorado or GMC Canyon as that is good comparison and he MAVERICK when the competition hits the market.
I also did the opposite like you. Owned a XLT, towed twice for dead battery and told also to park outside. I traded it in for 2022 Ridgeline EXL and got $7000 over what I paid. Can’t be happier to finally have a solid truck for 7 grand off list. Enjoy your Maverick but if you are trying to say it’s better than a Ridgeline I have some swampland in Florida for sale.
