I'm not complaining, I'm just expressing myself in a decidedly negative manner 😬

Why are some people complaining about some people complaining?

One wonders. Does the fact that the Maverick sometimes has problems threaten their very conception of existence? Or that some Maverick owners don't think it walks on water? Oh, I almost forgot. It's a car. Not a truck (Confession: It's possible I just threw this one in to help boost blood pressure medication profits).

Just to complete the circle, can somebody please start a thread asking why I am complaining about people complaining about people complaining?

I go on this forum everyday to read, and learn things about the Maverick. People complain about rattles, harsh ride, radio Is not quality etc. If these things bother you, buy a car, "NOT A TRUCK". Again they state this is my first new car, It's a Truck! Over the years, I have bought many vehicles, most used, 10 to 15 new. (I've been driving 66 years) stop comparing apples with oranges. Trucks do truck things, move a refrigerator, if you want comfort, buy a Camry. Just my humble opion. The Maverick is the best bang for the buck out there!
That sounds like a complaint to me 😄 but I totally agree, every vehicle has it's pro's and con's.
Adapt and drive on 🚘

Some people wouldn't be happy it they didn't have something to complain about. All vehicle makes have issues. DON'T BE A WHINER !!!!
There was a saying in the Navy "a bitching sailor is a happy sailor" and I worked with the happiest bunch in the Navy.

Why do people complain? To establish rapport in the community, or in this case,to gain visibility in the Mav truck club.
Don't forget some of us just find it cathartic and occasionally find company in moments of misery 😁.

Well, if people don’t bitch and moan then I can’t bitch and moan about them bitching and moaning. Then what would I have to bitch am moan about other than the fact that there is nothing to bitch and moan about? Then everybody would bitch and moan about me bitching and moaning because I am bitching and moaning about something other than their bitching and moaning.
Do I understand that correctly?
It is a vicious cycle.

I basically agree with your statement.

That said, they surely could have spent a little more here and there to soften the ride just a touch, but they had always said that they wanted it to feel like a truck -- and that's how it feels.
Sure, they could have added better door speakers to give it more bass, it wouldn't have cost much if anything given they have a variety of speakers in their warehouses and the tuning is what would have made the most of them -- and they had to do that anyway before production. I will say, despite the weak bass I'm quite pleased with the general clarity of them.

But they wanted this to be and feel like a budget friendly vehicle, and that's what it is and feels like in most ways. It still runs great, handles great, has good comfort and a very good amount of features for the price. And can anyone really complain about the capabilities of it?

Eight months into ownership, I've noticed no rattles, no scratches of the interior trim, and have only had a couple little hiccups of the touchscreen/sync system. This is the same as what I had experienced with my previous non-Ford vehicles too, so what is there to complain about. Sure, they could have done this or that to perhaps made a broader range of people happy, but consider the amount of engineering that it took to modify a platform for this sort of duty.... Nonetheless in both gas and hybrid as well as two drivelines. For their first attempt I would say they spent the money mostly where it had to be. I'm sure there will be changes made with mid-cycle updates and future generations.

Everything with my 24 Lariat hybrid has been great; except the battery will not hold a charge. Iead-acid batterys are not rocket science. It is not being pickey to expect a halfway OK battery, is it?

It's more or less the nature of forums and the internet in general. No one is going to log into these forums and make a post just to say "I got into my truck today and drove to the store and everything was completely normal and uneventful. Just another boring day running errands in my truck." You'll only get posts when people have issues, have questions, or have general grips. It's the nature of the beast.
Very well stated!
