  1. 2028 Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

I can see Fathom siphoning off some Maverick sales, but I don't think Ford cares. The Maverick fills a spot in the market for the "never-a-BEV" crowd. Many of whom used to be the "never-a-hybrid" crowd, but conveniently forgot about that. Hermosillo is running at or near capacity, and if...
  2. 2022 8f35 transmission problems

The search feature on this forum will take you to several ecoboost transmission threads. Yes, some others have had their transmissions replaced. Normally north of 50,000 miles, but not always. Doesn't seem to affect that many owners, but that's just anecdotal. We don't have any solid statistics.
  3. Are you happy with your Maverick? Would you buy it again?

If I had the whole 4 year journey to repeat - yea, I'd go back in time and do exactly what I did back in 2022 all over again. I'd buy an ecoboost XLT LUX CP360 AWD for $30,500 OTD with 0% financing (which was really a $1,500 discount). IMHO, it was a steal. It's been highly reliable, serviced in...
  4. Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

The article also says there is NO low voltage battery. Nada. Zip. There is a DC to DC converter.
  5. 1000 mile trip and I only average 24mpg. No matter if I go 55, 65, 75, or 85. This is what I get?

40,000 miles at a consistent 28.6 MPG. Mountains of WNC. 89 Octane gas. Saw the same MPG on the OEM tires and my Michelin Defender 2. Mix of highway and city driving. Tires at the manufacturer recommended 35 PSI.
  6. What are the 2022 vs 2027 changes?

Like I said, a partial engine redesign.
  7. What are the 2022 vs 2027 changes?

Partially new engine design in 2025.
  8. What are the 2022 vs 2027 changes?

Tim's Maverick Monday said we'll get details on 11 August, IIRC.
  9. 😮New Car Avg Payments Just Hit $777 & 1 out of 5 Owes $1K A Month!

I saw a stat last week that 30% of US car loans are underwater. It's borderline predatory. I've always felt we should get serious about educating kids on the financial math of everyday life while they're in junior high school. Most kids walk out of the doors of academia with a big target on...
  10. I forgot how good the Maverick is

I was a reluctant convert to the Maverick (from my 2010 Ranger). I had serious buyer's remorse driving away from the dealership. But it's converted me over the last 4 years and 40,000 trouble-free miles. It just works. It looks good. It's comfy. It hauls stuff inside and out. And it was only...
  11. Insurance suggestions?

If you're former military, or you have parents/spouse who were in the military or are currently in USAA - USAA is an obvious schoice. USAA is nonprofit. They distribute any surplus income back to members annually (assuming no catastrophic insurance losses). For me, that's usually 300+ dollars...
  12. XLT seats vs Lariat leather seats?

Love my heated XLT LUX seats. I choose our Maverick over our Volvo XC40 every time, and Volvo is famous for their seats. Never been a fan of anything but cloth seats.
  13. Lariat or well spec'd XLT?

Leather seat hater here. That's the main reason I chose my XLT. I love the heated cloth seats and steering wheel with the LUX package. Like the CP360 package. Love having AWD on my steep driveway. I have nothing against the Lariat except I hate leather seats. Just don't like the feel.
  14. Goodbye stick shift..

A stick shift and a Miata go together like bread and butter (I owned three Miatas). Recent research even shows that driving a manual transmission activates parts of your brain that an automatic doesn't. Then again, the world evolves, and dinosaurs like me will soon be in the rear view mirror. I...
  15. How many have needed to tow a trailer.

I trust my eyeballs more than this self-selecting poll. I live in the WNC mountains, and we have Mavericks out here multiplying like rabbits. My frigging neighbor has a Maverick. When I go to the grocery store, there are always a few Mavericks in the lot. In the last 4+ years, I've seen many...
  16. Michelin Defender Tires?

My OEM tires on my 2022 XLT LUX ECO AWD CP360 were unacceptable at 30,000 miles with light use. I replaced them with Defender 2 tires 10,000 miles ago and LOVE them.
  17. To trade or not to trade... that is the question

My standard answer, and one I'm applying to myself... Wait and see what the 2027 Maverick and the Ford UEV truck have to offer. Also strong rumors of a new small Toyota. I have a 2022 XLT LUX ECO CP360 AWD that I'm ready to trade in. A local dealer has a 2026 just like mine with a screaming...
  18. Are people actually paying basically MSRP for 3 year old Mavs?

Anybody else get this email yesterday? So any dealer discount (yes, they're discounting near me), and a military discount for $500, and this discount for $750, and employee pricing. All stacked. Not bad. Call it $3,000 or more off MSRP, which gets close to what I paid in 2022 for the same ride...
  19. Getting annoyed by the recurring issues.

There's no easy consolation when somebody just gets "that truck", or possibly "that dealership". I swore off Toyota for life after multiple bad sales and service experiences. It really seems to be like drawing straws sometimes.
  20. Thoughts about my Maverick 1 1/2 months in

As soon as I see Minot, I think B52s. Minot was the destination of choice for married guys coming out of USAF Navigator school. A stable life for the family. I was gonna suggest waiting on trading for a hybrid, thinking you might see how the Ford UEV is. But when I saw Minot, I thought "nah, 30...
