Green Valley is a retirement community with many senior drivers who lack situational awareness as they age. In this poorly designed parking lot it is not an exaggeration to say that there is an automobile accident each and every week. I try not to be too critical because all of us will have diminished capabilities as we get older. The key is to have the humility to say, ok my driving days are over.
I'm just 55, I know that I don't have the skill and reflexes of my younger self. I also drive slower to put reaction time on my side and I don't drive aggressively which just invites mishaps. For now it all equals out. But there will come a time when I may not be able to compensate for the ravages of old age.
