  1. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

I hauled a 1700lb Yanmar 4x4 loader tractor 100 miles with my EB with 4K tow pkg. Trailer was probably 1000lbs so near 3,000lb or so. In tow mode it surprised me at how well it did. Super easy.
  2. This single tip saves 20% gas!

PSA on driving near semis: Don't. I was a diesel mechanic and semi-trailer wreck rebuild mechanic for 20 years. Below is a small chunk of the center of a 4ft long trailer mono-leaf spring. We'd cut a piece out and use it to buck(flatten) rivets. I have replaced dozens of these that had broken...
  3. Post your Maverick next to ridiculously large trucks - photos thread

Look at me, look at meeeee.....!!!111!
  4. OEM cabin air filter thread with links and pics. Premium OEM vs. regular OEM.

Beware the Luberfiner filters from Rockauto. They are cheaper because they are less material. OEM vs one.
  5. OEM tire defects?

Depends on your use. For me running 3miles of dirt road daily they were unusable and cut to pieces at 3300 miles with 3 flats patched. If running only paved roads you may get lucky and get to wear them out.

You have HUGE American truck. My truck so small...so small...
  7. Post your Maverick next to ridiculously large trucks - photos thread

I went to black friday at Cabela's one year and you could barely drive thru the parking lot with all the penile implant sized trucks with their stupid hitches sticking out in the way. Almost every one of those hitches with zero sign of ever having anything hooked to them.
  8. Santa Cruz vs Maverick comparison - One didn't survive...

I'm not sure. Deleted the VIN pic I had of it. After my Santa Fe being so great I thought I was a Hyundai guy for life. The taste of that Tuscon will be bitter for a long time for me.
  9. Santa Cruz vs Maverick comparison - One didn't survive...

After owning Hyundais for 20 years and having the same thing happen to my 2014 Tuscon 2.0 GDI I will never own another. Ours was burning oil and I never knew it. I let the dealer do the service on it and my wife handled taking it to service. After seeing how they were gouging her I started...

    Uhh...check your tire pressure?
  11. Tranny Nanny Got Me

So I defeated the tranny nanny today. I stopped on my dirt road to pick up a big rock and chuck it off the road. Seatbelt was off. Opened the door and the truck went into park. I put it back into drive and moved fwd. Door was open and seatbelt off. Tried it in reverse. Door open, seatbelt...

My truck so small. You have HUGE American truck.
  13. Hybrid Mileage improvement with 100% ethanol-free gas

I live near @Ozarkbeard and have had frozen gas lines back when all the gas here was no ethanol ~1988. I always put Heet in them after that. I had moved up here from TX and when it happened I had no idea what was wrong with my car. One of the locals told me about Heet and frozen gas lines.
  14. Check Rock Auto vs Amazon

I didn't post it but the engine air filter is the same physical size but with half the pleats so half the paper as well. Wish I had done a side by side of the pleats when I changed it.
  15. Check Rock Auto vs Amazon

I will say this WRT Rockauto Luberfiner filters. They contain about half the paper as OEM. You are literally getting half the filter at half the price. Below is a factory (L)vs Luberfiner(R) cabin air filter. I found the same with the engine air filters.
  16. My theory of Mavericks getting rear ended

My wife was rearended a few weeks ago. Idiot dropped his phone and was reaching down in the floor to get it. Just plain stupid idiot people with zero impulse control. Guess what, you won't die if you wait until you stop and put your car in park to pick up your phone, idiot.
  17. Flat Tire Surprise

What brand of tire was flat?
  18. Flat Tire Surprise

That's a 1/4" driver. It's meant for driving screws. There's nothing wrong with it for its intended use. 1/2" is required for lug nuts.
  19. Flat Tire Surprise

I have an older Ryobi P261 1/2" impact. It is the lowest torque 18v 1/2" that has been made at 300ftlbs. I just went out and zapped a lug nut off the Mav very easily. I rotated them a week ago and torqued them to 150ftlbs with my Snap-on torque wrench. Which Ryobi impact are you using that...
