This one has the straight 6, no turbo, and no idrive, which is over my limited ken anyway. I drove it home today; it was a great 25-mile drive. Embarrassing, when I got it home I couldn't start it, and had to call my salesman, wasn't pushing that cockamamie key in far enough for it to click...
Thanks, Mike. I always take the "haters" with a grain of salt. And there are a lot of them out there. I pick her up this morning. I have read the owners manual once, and will read it again, as there are so many electric things (passenger mirror moves down for parallel parking, etc.) to...
I was never a German car fan; I always had British or Japanese sports cars. But, if I remember correctly, the 2002 LITERALLY PUT BMW ON THE MAP IN AMERICA. Our neighbor's kid had one, and he swore by it. The guy who gets my Maverick is getting a nice truck. 6400 miles, original wheels, hub...
Thanks for the moral support. I had a 2004 Ford Retrobird that was a money pit that I eventually had to sell. Years later, I am buying this car, but with two changes, I now HAVE the money, and I bought an extended warranty, NO DEDUCTIBLE, for two years, at just under $100 a month. Re. that...
Well, all good things must come to an end. As I am no longer able to heft my kayak, I had to get rid of it, and no longer have a need for a truck. Carvana offered me $24,600 for my 2022 XL (I paid $19,995 + $1,400 options), only 6400 miles. It has been my first non-convertible vehicle, and I...
Observation on Weathertech products: I have bought Weathertech floor mats for my last 10-or-so vehicles, over a 20-or-so-year period. One OBVIOUS observation: the mats have gotten thinner and cheaper and MORE EXPENSIVE over the years.. A set used to be so heavy that I could not carry the...
I agree with Lynette 100 percent. When outside, I don't see the interior, and when inside I don't see the exterior. Then again, I am colorblind, so it wouldn't matter anyway. Being red-green colorblind, I can see yellow and orange, so I would love those colors on a Maverick. Of course...
Great job! Quick question: WILL THEY MATCH PAINT COLORS? (For a fee, of course.) I have the silver Maverick. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for it?
The XL is enough vehicle ONLY if you are like I am. I don't use the TV screen on the dash except to look at the time. OTOH, there is my brother-in-law who we call "Gadget Man," who wants every dumb-ass (my opinion) option you can put on a car. I think he paid $45-50K for a Honda CRV 10 years...
Yes, I agree with Benilla. What turned me onto the 2022 Maverick was the $19,995, simple as that. And I only got $1,400 in options. The one competitive truck was a LOT more expensive. I am hankering for another convertible, but there is none out there.
Glen, you hit a nerve! Every time someone mentions remote mirrors, I kick myself in the ass. I graduated college in 1970, and bought a new 1970 Barracuda convertible, white on white on white. I ordered the 318, but it arrived with a 383 4-barrel. Anyway, back to my tale. Ordering the car...
