  1. Adios Amigos

This one has the straight 6, no turbo, and no idrive, which is over my limited ken anyway. I drove it home today; it was a great 25-mile drive. Embarrassing, when I got it home I couldn't start it, and had to call my salesman, wasn't pushing that cockamamie key in far enough for it to click...
  2. Adios Amigos

Thanks, Mike. I always take the "haters" with a grain of salt. And there are a lot of them out there. I pick her up this morning. I have read the owners manual once, and will read it again, as there are so many electric things (passenger mirror moves down for parallel parking, etc.) to...
  3. Adios Amigos

I was never a German car fan; I always had British or Japanese sports cars. But, if I remember correctly, the 2002 LITERALLY PUT BMW ON THE MAP IN AMERICA. Our neighbor's kid had one, and he swore by it. The guy who gets my Maverick is getting a nice truck. 6400 miles, original wheels, hub...
  4. Adios Amigos

Thanks for the moral support. I had a 2004 Ford Retrobird that was a money pit that I eventually had to sell. Years later, I am buying this car, but with two changes, I now HAVE the money, and I bought an extended warranty, NO DEDUCTIBLE, for two years, at just under $100 a month. Re. that...
  5. Adios Amigos

Well, all good things must come to an end. As I am no longer able to heft my kayak, I had to get rid of it, and no longer have a need for a truck. Carvana offered me $24,600 for my 2022 XL (I paid $19,995 + $1,400 options), only 6400 miles. It has been my first non-convertible vehicle, and I...
  6. Please wait for fuel door to open

    Nor a hammer and chisel.
  7. WeatherTech Alloy trifold hard tonneau cover: 5-Star down to ZERO

Observation on Weathertech products: I have bought Weathertech floor mats for my last 10-or-so vehicles, over a 20-or-so-year period. One OBVIOUS observation: the mats have gotten thinner and cheaper and MORE EXPENSIVE over the years.. A set used to be so heavy that I could not carry the...
  8. Tail exhaust melting bumper

    Burritos in your gasoline?
  9. 2025 colors

I agree with Lynette 100 percent. When outside, I don't see the interior, and when inside I don't see the exterior. Then again, I am colorblind, so it wouldn't matter anyway. Being red-green colorblind, I can see yellow and orange, so I would love those colors on a Maverick. Of course...
  10. Visit from "Boots"

    Pass it along! Great Karma!!!!!
  11. The Leer 180XL Mid-Rise Truck Cap Camper is here! I like it. Alot.

Great job! Quick question: WILL THEY MATCH PAINT COLORS? (For a fee, of course.) I have the silver Maverick. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for it?
  12. Is the XL base enough?

The XL is enough vehicle ONLY if you are like I am. I don't use the TV screen on the dash except to look at the time. OTOH, there is my brother-in-law who we call "Gadget Man," who wants every dumb-ass (my opinion) option you can put on a car. I think he paid $45-50K for a Honda CRV 10 years...
  13. Bad hail damage, wish me luck!

Man, LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!! In Texas, they would just total the vehicle.
  14. My Stupid Theory - Maverick price hikes make way for new cheap truck

Yes, I agree with Benilla. What turned me onto the 2022 Maverick was the $19,995, simple as that. And I only got $1,400 in options. The one competitive truck was a LOT more expensive. I am hankering for another convertible, but there is none out there.
  15. Mavrick XL truck cover installed - from Carcovers

I have used their covers on my last 6 cars. They even have different grades of cover, depending upon your weather conditions and your pocketbook.
  16. Is the XL base enough?

Glen, you hit a nerve! Every time someone mentions remote mirrors, I kick myself in the ass. I graduated college in 1970, and bought a new 1970 Barracuda convertible, white on white on white. I ordered the 318, but it arrived with a 383 4-barrel. Anyway, back to my tale. Ordering the car...
  17. My best MPG

WoW!!! Think if you'd done it in REVERSE !!!!!!
  18. Taillight pops out

I think your truck has gas. Put a little bicarbonate of soda ........................................ never mind.
  19. Massive MPG and electric mile drop after dealer oil change
