My Ecoboost is expected to arrive any day now. While I twiddle my thumbs waiting for the call, tell me what you don't like about the Maverick so I can taper my expectations.

So far, I've heard of:

• Bad speaker/sound system.
• Noisy interior cabin
• Easily scratched interior

Would really like that audible warning when in reverse and getting close to an object. Just get the different color lines on backup camera.

I don't like the 8 light fuel gauge on my Lariat.
I wish it had something more accurate to look at.
Also the position of the start button

I guess the miles to empty that sits right above it isn't accurate enough....

I agree that the cabin isn't particularly noisy. My old car was slightly quieter but it doesn't have excessive noise at all. It's not an ultra quiet luxury vehicle and nobody should expect it to be.

The utilitarian vibe is cool. Ford should lean into that more instead of going faux-lux like they usually do. The idea is that it's kind of like the seats on Frontier airlines. They aren't luxury at all yet manage to be perfectly comfortable. Go with that - it's a cheap truck and trying to cover that up is silly. Just don't make the interior a sea of black plastic.

Rotary shifter is the only lasting complaint. No limits exist on detents when turning the shifter clockwise or counterclockwise, it just keeps on spinning. Twice I've let a passenger out of the vehicle and thought I was in park and it was not, near misses that could have been serious injury.
I'm in the camp of disliking the rotary mechanism.

2.0 ecoboost here.. No real problems, more things I wish for or just notice.

Hmmm, no option to select your own gears. It's got the power, but delivery isn't the smoothest either. Lobo I am sure will have that rectified for a truer sport truck feel. Kinda more a wish than a complaint here.

Another 1k lb towing on the tow package would open up a slew more small travel trailers. Ford usually seems to want to be tops in the tow wars and definitely in a class themselves with Chevy/Dodge (AKA F150 well above the Tunrda and Titan, Ranger well over the Tacoma/Ridgeline), but they set themselves below the Santa Cruz here.

Didn't put cruise control on the first year XL. I get it's a budget truck, but it's not a Mitsubishi Mirage (and yes, that has cruise on the base trim).

Being able to set the preference on the drive mode. AKA setting eco or sport and it stays there till you change it.

Not much else out there really. And I do love the truck, the cruise was the only "will not buy' issue and they fixed that in year 2.

None of those issues for me but I wish it had a longer bed.

But with hitch extensions and a trailer I've gotten around all that.

My 24 XLT FX4 Eco does sound like a sewing machine also, but only till it warms up. Still, the 8 speed transmission is not the best, LUGS around 15 hundred RPM @ 30 to 40 MPH and doesn’t know how to downshift until you tap the go pedal! Annoying!

I hate the rattles, having to buy a new battery, manual passenger seat, no seat memory, no auto-dimming mirror, no rain sensing wipers, $495 paint option chipping all over, getting a $40K+ with XPlan vehicle (see my signature) thinking Lariat and all options would be better/nicer than the $20K version.

Why there are no sensers on the front bumper to warn you if your close to something low that you can't see, when they have them on an Escape. If it's called Cp Pilot 360, it should cover 360 degrees, not 180.

If my ecoboost sits for more than 3-4 days, when you open the door to get in the interior lights don't turn on. Only the infotainment screen turns on for about a second before turning back off. I'm assuming this is about protecting the battery. I understand not turning all the screens on, but the courtesy lights? Every other vehicle I have owned the lights will still come on even if the battery is too weak to turn the engine over.
