Over the years I've been insured with just about all of the companies operating in Ontario. I've switched most of the time for better rates, although I did switch when my b*stard agent had the cops search my house when my stereo was stolen a lot of years ago. I used to be insured by Intact (Dutch company), until they gave me two wildly different rates for two of the same vehicle. My sister used to work for State Farm, and would never use them today. All of these big insurance monopolies are just ripoff engines. For the last 6 years I have been insured by CAA insurance (Canada) and pay for the distance travelled. Since CAA and AAA are connected at the hips, I'd bet that AAA also have similar insurance plans. This year I pay CDN$58 per 1000km driven, or about $650 for the year in my case. That's about half of what the big boys charge.
