Hello,,
I am very close on closing on a 2025 Maverick and checked with State Farm about the insurance of a 2025 Maverick XL, AWD, Hybrid. Almost fell out of my chair when I received the quote. It was originally $ 284.77 and it was then reduced to $ 212.68 which is still very very expensive.
On my current policy with 2 cars (2018 Passat and a 1990 LS400) plus two motorcycles I pay less than that - also with the same State Farm agent. Of course they sent me the typical excuse about all of the safety features cost replacement etc.

Was wondering if this is a general issue with the Maverick or if State Farm is trying to take advantage of the situation? Would be interesting to know who much you guys pay on full coverage and a $ 500.00 deductible?

Thanks,
Mario

I feel lucky. Mine was 1263 for the year so only 105 a month. Of course, that's with discounts because we have two cars and the home with the same company. But I don't know how much that matters.
My hartford ins went up from 1500 to 2000 dollars for this year. I have not had a ticket, accident or any claims in decades! my credit score is over 800. when i question them i do not get a viable answer. I suspect the dealer placed a low jack in my truck. Did some research the low jack is always on and it may be the cause of battery failure. frank

It is not a general issue with the maverick. It is a general issue with any new vehicle. Try shopping around.

This thread is comparing oranges to apples. Your cost for insurance depends on where you live. Every insurer charges different amounts for people living in Idaho, and people living in Florida.

Hell you get a different rate from address to address. People don't realize they look at you as an individual. Ive even had a spelling of a name change rate.

Exactly! I have no idea why the OP is upset about the sky high insurance rates for a Maverick, compared to their existing vehicle, if they are going to get quotes for the Maverick in a different state than where they currently live.

Because they would need to get quotes for the Maverick in the state where they currently live in order for it to be an apples to apples comparison. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Purchased progressive insurance in March. Reading amendments i found in exclusions. Bodily injury and property damage caused by or reasonably expected to result from a criminal Act or omission of the insured person. This exclusion applies regardless of whether that insured person is actually charged with or convicted of a Crime. This exclusion will
apply only to those damages in excess of the minimum limit mandated by the motor vehicle financial responsibility law of south Carolina. For purposes of this exclusion criminal acts or admissions do not include traffic violations. MY TAKE! If the claims adjuster determines that its a crime my 100/300 thousand coverage is reduced to 25,50 thousand. Even If I take it to court and im found innocent. The exclusion still applies. I have spent many hours researching this its used by some other companies. I asked my agent for a explanation. What in means and why i deserve it. She gives me a number im transferred next transfer im disconnected. I go on their web site again transferred next transfer disconnected. called claims you guessed it. Transferred transferred disconnected Frank

All insurance rates have gone up due to part costs. My agent told me about a client with commercial coverage on a GMC 5500 truck that was 2 weeks old and he hit a deer. The grille and radiator cost $25,000 for parts and replacement and they were still waiting on a price for the bumper. The agent said 5 years ago that would have been under 10k to repair.
ITs also due to technology. Each sensor that is on the vehicle will need to get sorted in the event of an accident. That includes recalibrating sensors even if they weren't damaged. And most cars now are designed to crumble which means more parts needed to be replaced when a small fender bender occurs. People also forgot most companies lowered their rates significantly during covid and this is the result of catching up to the correct rate structure. I saw someone on here saying they were paying along the lines of 42 a month for full coverage. Thats a hell of a rate!

What is your liability and uninsured coverage. Liability is what costs. I just upped mine to 500k and added a 1 million umbrella policy. WHY? watch all the personal injury lawyer commercials and you will see why. If sued you can fight it in court at your expense or let your insurance company fight it.
100k/300k coverage. I thought about upping to 500k but decided not to.

Even If I take it to court and im found innocent.
But if you were "found innocent", the story rights would dwarf your insurance costs.

No one in the English speaking countries has ever been found innocent in a criminal case (well, Scottland may be an exception).

The verdict "Not Guilty" includes "We're nearly certain that he did it, but . . ."; "Guilty" requires "beyond a reasonable doubt.

Acquittal in a criminal case in no way stops victims from suing the acquitted person, as that standard of proof is much lower.

To deny coverage, there would essentially be a trial in civil court, with the lower standard of proof, to determine that you committed the crime.

Personally, I'd like a clause preventing payment of more than state minimums without a full release of my individual liability.

Was going to reply to this when you first posted. Somehow got distracted, hell maybe I did already can't see or remember anymore.
So I called my State Farm agent November, December of 2024. The 2025's were not in the system at that time so he quoted the most expensive trim level hybrid of 2024 was about $440 something every six months. $500 deductible. I think cool cheaper than the Camaro which I sold. And the Silverado, which I sold, with liability only on it. Those were $800 and some change every six months.

February the Maverick arrives. Call the agent everything is set for me to pick up the truck on 2/7/25. No payments due they say. Weird I think, the others were coming due when I got rid of them. Finally early April I got a declaration page still no bill. So I call to ask WTF was going on. Clerk boy taking my info left a digit out of my vin. Honestly maybe it was me, but I mean he read it back and all was good at the time. Then it was something about autopay, which I DO NOT DO. So I called back again but somewhat agitated. This time a lady. She got everything smoothed out finally. But it got more complicated.

See the Maverick was supposed to replace the Silverado which was insured the longest to receive some kind of discount. On top of the other 15 discounts. She started out telling me my 2025 XLT Maverick Hybrid AWD was $1000 something every six months. "BS" I say. Then it went to $500 something. Again "BS" I say. Dude quoted $440 something,WTF? I know this is long but it finally got to $442 every six months.

We insure six autos and four Harleys. I got two Harleys with no insurance and all vehicles have different levels of coverage.

We moved almost eight years ago from the "Castle" we had built to a smaller home. Also sold our 40 acre farm. Relocated because kids grow up and 3000 square feet houses with empty bedrooms are expensive to heat. Found a nice all brick repo in the hood with lots of garage and shop space. Rates went up then some because of the area, older homes and more traffic.

State Farm has changed a lot in the last twenty years. They closed the South Central Regional office here a few years back. My family worked for State Farm for almost 200 years of combined service. My mom left at 62 with 45 years of service 20 years ago. Remember all those hurricanes? She told me then it about broke State Farm.

Dug this up because I just got hit with the big oof.

Arranging ins on the new Lariat... Monday is looking definite for pickup... I gotta pore over the paperwork when it comes in. Got an agent in a real noisy office, don't know if I added stuff I didn't mean to. Anyway, fully comp on half the mileage seems to be near double what it is on our 2025 Escape PHEV. The vehicle is 25% more expensive, but I thought it would be a wash between spendy Mav repairs and spendy PHEV repairs and they weigh close so should nail things about as hard. Got all the same safety features... well the Lariat might have a slight edge.

I did hear rates had gone up about a month or two after our last renewal though, so IDK if the differential will be the same at next renewal.

Not sure of exact figs until paperwork lands, but know I'm in for ~100 a month more. I was hoping the Lariat trim was more Boomer, like the Town and Country trim of the minivan, meaning for strange reasons it was cheaper than base. Looks like not... or maybe this year is a bit of a balloon year because of fascia change and it will settle if everybody can avoid crashing them plzthxbye.

I wonder what my insurance is going to be now that I traded my Maverick for a Explorer.
