I had a (I think) 1986 Ranger extended cab. Drove it for a lot of years. 5 speed! Really like it. After retiring, I wanted another truck. My key was I wanted something that would fit in the garage (HOA can be a PITA). Really wanted another Ranger, but thought the price was out of line...
My father-in-law was a tool & die maker for Ford. Thus, as a Union member he qualified for some kind of a plan (and no, I don't specifically remember). We used it several times and thought it was a good deal. At one point, the President of the company I was working for also owned a Ford...
Where I'm encountering AI is in customer service. It's becoming very difficult to actually talk to a live person to resolve a problem. Biggest example so far is Frontier Communications. If you have a phone/internet problem, the only way to get it resolved is to say cancel service. That gets...
Since I bought my Maverick from CarMax, I don't have Ford Pass, Ford points, etc. I'll go to the dealer for recalls. A recent recall coincided with need for an oil change. Paid dealer about $125. My local shop, where I've gone to for years hits me for about $99.
Semi-related. I also have a...
My 23 came with a Rough County tri-fold (or double fold as the wags call it). I was not necessarily buying the truck to haul lots of stuff. What I liked was since I also had a locking tailgate, I had a fairly safe place to carry stuff.
While not specific to my Maverick, we had mobile service come out to do a software update for my wife's Lincoln MKX. Tech showed up, but seemed to have a lot of problems connecting. Not sure whether it was connecting to vehicle or to internet. Anyway, after an hour (supposed to be 20 minutes)...
2023 Eco, bought that April. 42k miles now. No real issues. I was debating between this an a Ranger. Needed a vehicle. Walked out of first dealer. 2nd one didn't have a Ranger, but had a decent deal on the Mav, so ....
My daughter had an old Ford Mustang. She was car 3 in a 4 car accident. Naturally, the insurance payout wasn't enough to buy her a new vehicle. Plus there was some mental trauma to her. So, I was driving a Ford Explorer. I gave it to her. Bigger vehicle. So without knowing exactly what I...
When I bought my Mav (Lariat trim) from CarMax, it had a Rough Country hard cover with the locking tailgate. That was a big selling point for me. In just over 3 years, I've had no issues with it.
So in the early 2000's, the owner of the company I was working for also had a piece of a Ford Dealership. He told everyone that if they wanted a new Ford, he could sell it to them for his cost. My Father-in-Law was a retired Ford tool and die maker. That means my wife is qualifed for, I...
I was on my way to Dothan, Alabama from Tampa, FL. I-10 across the panhandle, then North. If I would have gone maybe 15 miles out of my way, I could have hit the highest point in Florida, 348 feet above sea level! Didn't really notice any issues with my Maverick!
I have a Lariat with the factory installed keypad. It does not have remote start. So, I bought a spare fob and a Faraday bag and stuck it under the rear seat. If I would lose my fob while traveling, I can always get in and get the other one.
The other day, the tailgate stop bumper came off. The plastic clip/pin that holds it on broke. So after doing some research on this forum, plus Ford plus Google, it appears that the only replacement option is for an F-150. I didn't find anything specific for the Maverick.
Does anyone know if...
I always like to listen to books on CD when on long trips. Pre-COVID, you pretty much had to have an actual CD. Then when everthing closed, things like the Libby app started showing up. My Mav was the first vehicle I owned that did NOT have a CD player. So, I bought one for like $10 off...
I expeerienced an location based insurance issue years ago (not related to a Mav). I moved from Orlando to Tampa. Initally rented a condo in Tampa while looking for a house. My insurance rate just about doubled. Alleged reason was Tampa did not chase vehicles that cause accidents, were...
