When I got my '22 XLT (Eco with AWD and 4K tow pkg) my insurance went down from my '19 Hyundai Tucson. However, when I got my '23 XLT Hybrid, it went up. I don't recall how much the drop was on my '22, but it does seem that the increase on the '23 is still lower than the Tucson.

I live in the metro Richmond, VA area and full coverage on my '23 Lariat is $202.82 per month, less than I had anticipated.
I didn't think about this when I made my original post, but the $202.82 is for my 2017 Focus AND the Maverick.

Looking through the forum it seems as if these Mavericks are often totaled due to price of repair even with minimal damage that would be easily repaired on a typical body on frame truck.

So are people’s insurance costs high? I would think rates would be going up to ensure profitability for the insurance companies. How does it compare to other cars you insure if you insure more than one vehicle.

I have mine finally scheduled for build. I’ve been waiting since Oct 2021. I’m wondering if I’ll get insurance sticker shock. I hope not.
What in today’s economy does not give you sticker shock?

The insurance for my Mav wasn't bad, 64 bucks per month. It does have full collision coverage with $1K deductible, in addition to < 5K Ml/Y driving it. I actually drive around 3K miles per year.

GEICO was going to almost double my rates switching from my 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis, but I switched to Progressive and my rates went down.

I have full coverage on my 2004 Infiniti and just liability on my old Mazda truck. My agent said replacing the Mazda with the Maverick and full coverage would increase my bill by about $500/year or $1625/year for both vehicles.

I asked this same question a couple of weeks ago because I thought the same thing after seeing trucks totaled for minor damage.

My rate ended up being the same as the 2018 Rav4 I got rid of. I was hoping for a drop and might call State Farm to see what discounts I am getting.

My insurance nearly doubled compared to the 04 Taurus it replaced, but at that time I had 3 vehicles insured & received multi car discount, which I don't really understand, I can only drive one at a time anyway, but now have only the Maverick insured as I sold the other 3.

Since you can only drive one car at a time the multi car discount is like a discount for the miles you don't drive the one you cannot drive. They work with statistical probability of claims paid out. You may also lower your premium if you carry AAA and have duplicate riders on your existing policy that you could eliminate.

I haven’t got my Mav yet but it’s $500 more a year until I drop the 2018 Kona.

I went from paying 54$ a month for my 2009 GMC Canyon to 155$ for the Maverick.
Spotless record.. I'm over 40 years old and only drive 10k km per year so I'll be shopping around soon I'm sick and tired of paying higher insurance because half the drivers in this province don't know how to drive.

Mine is $75 more per year, than my 2019 Ford Transit Connect Platinum. About $1300, with a fully covered scoot. If I paid monthly, it would be around $1800+ for a year

With everything being exactly the same, company, address, me, etc., my '23 Maverick XLT is 25% more than my '21 Bronco Sport. Both have about the same safety features and I paid almost the same for each.

My insurance went up but only slightly. The truck's also worth more than my previous vehicle, so there's that.

Unibody vehicles may be more easily "totaled," but insurance payouts for personal injuries may be less than for crashes involving body-on-frame trucks.
