Why is the hybrid guaranteed to be less reliable? A main difference between the hybrid and the ecoboost is the transmission. The hybrid transmission is a much simpler design with significantly fewer parts than the ecoboost transmission.
The original Ranger was significantly smaller (at least in width) than the Maverick. I had one, which easily fit in my 1900 vintage garage. I had to spend $6K to widen the garage door when I bought my Maverick.
I have a 3 year old hybrid Maverick with 15,000 miles that I park for a month or two every winter without any trickle charger. Never had a problem with the battery or the truck not starting.
I will NEVER buy a vehicle that doesn't support CarPlay. I use it all the time. I don't need to pay for a navigation upgrade, nor do I want to learn how to use multiple navigation systems in different vehicles. Using my cell phone for navigation works perfectly and is always up to date.
Are Mavericks available in Germany, or is this a Military only deal? Can you sell your Maverick used in Germany or do you need to ship it back to the US when your deployment ends?
It's not just garages that are an issue. Having a small vehicle is a big plus when parking in regular surface lots or parking structures. I love my Ecosport mainly for that reason. Too bad you can't get pickups with the same dimensions as 20 years ago.
My garage is a Carriage House built in 1901. With my 20 year old Ranger, I had ~10-12" clearance on each side. With the Maverick the clearance was at most 6" on a side. Given the icing on the incline going into the garage in the winter, that was way too scary for me.
