That was my intent, maybe easier to modify the Escape or Bronco Sport hitch than to fabricate it from scratch.

Got the bumper/hitch/receiver in yesterday. I talk to the body shop at the local Ford dealer. They want me to bring this in to give me an estimate of how much it will cost and will let me know if the Escape 4-pin wiring harness will work. Looks like it will, as there’s a slot to the left of the hitch for it.

@RonR1959 To be clear, you received the genuine Ford Maverick "bolt-on" trailer hitch sold on the Ford Accessories website? Can you show us a pic ofthe invoice that came with it? And where did you order it from?

The pictures are much appreciated. Would like to see the part number and where it was ordered from also. Thanks and please keep us all updated on the install and wiring harness.

Still raining or did you find the trailer plug under your Maverick?
I’m going to the Ford body shop so they can look and give me an estimate of how much it will cost to get bumper put on. They’re going to look for the wiring har

www.fordpartsonsale.com is where I ordered the hitch from. OEM part.

Apparently its supposed to be just a bolt-on piece. Yeah keep us posted. And if you get bored, send us a pic of the mounting holes on those two end brackets. :)

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the $100.00 4-pin "build option" hitch and the upgraded 4K package hitch or are they the same part?

I noticed there isn't anything listed for Maverick on that site. Thankfully mine was buildt with the hitch and cam with the 4 pin socket.. which is mounted on the left side of the receiver. I am kinda curious where the aftermarket taps into... if it already has a plug in the wire harness that exists.

I already stated that this is an OEM part, and NOT an after market hitch. The slit for the wiring harness IS on the left side of the hitch.

Why not just install it yourself? It’s likely 4 bolts into existing holes on the frame. Did the receiver hitch come with mounting hardware?

Also, the 4pin pigtail likely plugs into an existing connector under the bumper. Perhaps someone with a factory installed hitch could provide a pic of that connection.

Good luck..

.

Hey All, FYI I just went to the Ford Accessories site, and I was able to order the tow hitch with the part number, and importantly it does not show out of stock and it did not automatically add the labor cost to the order. https://accessories.ford.com/products/maverick-2022-2-trailer-hitch-receiver
With the 20% discount code (FORDXKOH) provided in a separate post by @Powered-by-Ford , I got it for $244 plus $7.95 shipping to my home. I jumped on it, not wanting to risk these sell out and constraints happen. Fingers crossed!! My intent is to install this myself as Im pretty mechanically inclined.

Thx @RonR1959 for posting he had received his which got me searching again!
