You are looking at minimum of $900 in parts w/o any cruise control installed and somewhere around $815 if you do since you'll only need 1 steering wheel switch then instead of 2. I haven't even looked at the wiring yet that could add more to that cost depending. I am not going to sink that type of money into parts for a feature just to prove it can be done. I already have cruise control now and am good with that.
That's where I am as well, the most bang for the buck. Cruise control was the only thing that was "lacking" on the XL for me. Now that I have that, good cheap fun playing with stuff is great, but spending the big bux for ACC, Lane Centering, etc. isn't going to happen.

One feature that I might add on is the rearing parking sensors. The rear camera is okay at best and when the tailgate is down even with the mirrors adjusted it is still a PITA to do. That looks to be about a $200 upgrade and the amount of times using reverse during the course of ownership makes it possibly a good investment mod in these trucks.

Although aren't the rear sensors kind of useless in the case of the tailgate being down because it sets them off constantly?

I don't know actually and that was one of the questions I need to get an answer to first. If it is the case then the sensors don't bring anything to the party that the rear camera doesn't already do.

What is the part for the radar-equipped grille? I am curious about how much it costs.

You shouldn't need to change the grille, you mount the bracket to hold the sensor and cover using self taping screws to a bar running down the center behind the grille.

So what would the part number of the radar sensor be, and how would I be able to find that kind of information by myself in the future?

For moment the only online parts place that has the Maverick parts is
https://parts.ford.com

You can either put in the Maverick as a vehicle and look under electrical then sensors/devices or use part number 9E731 to find the sensor parts and mounting equipment. The steering wheel switches will be part numbers SW8585 and SW8576. For the wiring I've found 2 part numbers and cables look to be different depending if you have a 2.0L or 2.5L hybrid. Part # 14920 should be what plugs into the sensor then back into the main harness going to the fuse box in the engine compartment. There is another wire I don't know what it is used for but is related to the adaptive cruise control part # 14B474. If both wires are needed add about an extra $150 to that install.

If you want to attempt this spend $21 for 72 hour access to the all the shop manuals and wiring diagrams for the Maverick at

My rear sensors are in my bumper. You can see one of them in the black bumper under my tail light. There are 4 of them across the back. The camera sure is affected. And it will yell at you when backing up with the tailgate down. But they do work for cross traffic still.

This mod will work in the standard configuration for all trims with the only possible exception being Lariats w/ Sync 3 installed. An alternate configuration will then be needed which is untested so far.

Tools need

Forscan software and a programming cable

tutorial assumes you already know how to program using forscan.

First we need to enable the TSR menu in the instrument cluster. This has been tested on the 4.2inch cluster and is untested but should work on 6inch instrument clusters.

There are 2 possible settings depending if you have trailer sway control option in the vehicle assistance.

IPC
720-03-02
xxCx-xxxx

use this to change your existing setting if you have the trailer sway control as an option.
If not try different values in place of C until you get the TSR menu and no option for trailer sway control.

edit
apparently trailer sway control is a standard feature so that is the correct setting for all trims

Next we need to enable the image processing module to scan speed signs.

This works in 2 distinct configurations.
1a. No Sync & no nav system - tested and confirmed working
1b. Sync & no nav system - will only apply to Lariats w/Lux. package - untested

2. Sync & nav system - semi confirmed see below

Configuration 1 which most every Maverick owner will use only scans speed limit signs with the front facing camera.

Configuration 2 supplements the camera with posted speed limits from the nav system maps. This requires a different hex code than Config 1 and may also require modifications to the APIM module to fully work. This needs to be tested still.

Config 1 without Navigation system
IPMA
706-01-01
xxxx-xxD2-xxxxx

This enables the speed sign scanning processing in the image processing module

Config 2 with Navigation system
IPMA
706-01-01
xxxx-xxDB-xxxxx
This will enable the system to also use the Nav system for posted speeds.
Note if you use this on a non Sync system you get a reduced performance error message and it won't scan signs at all.

That is it and if you did everything correctly TSR which is undocumented on the Maverick thus far will be enabled and working correctly in the instrument cluster with no conflicts with other safety features.

There should also be added functionality to display the speed signs on the head units but that is not known if it will at this point and requires further testing.
Thanks for posting this! Used Forscan for the first time tonight and was able to activate TSR in less than 5 mins after hooking it up

Audible warning enabled when you go over the posted speed or set threshold.
Main post will be updated accordingly.

So let me make sure I understand.

This is a feature that all mavericks have, but Ford just turns it off?

WHAT?!

For ACC, unless you have a hybrid it won't really work right. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand the electric brake booster is needed for the low speed stop and go scenarios. Everything except the hybrid models (all trims) and the Lariat eco with Lux which already has ACC have a plain old vacuum assisted booster instead of the super expensive electric brake booster. Too bad because from my experience Ford's ACC is far superior to the systems I've had from Hyundai, Mazda and Toyota

Anyone tried this on a Hybrid Lariat with Lux and 360?

Really would like the TSR and whatever else I can add.
