It is available on other vehicles now like the Ford Escape. Could be an oversight or they couldn't figure out how to price it into a package. Could be any number of reasons. They tend to build things modular and it is only a case of turning on and off features not if they will work in the first place. The only issue I see if there is one is there a valid breaking system config in the ABS module for adaptive with intelligent cruise control vs adaptive cruise control. I know what the code should be but don't know if it actually works.
What are the primary differences between the two.

I have the Lariat Lux and am super happy with ACC but wonder what else I could be missing in Intelligent cruise.

All it does is change the set adaptive CC speed to the speed limit when it scans or if you have navigation detects a change in the posted speed limit. You can also set the tolerances to how many miles over until it triggers. If you set it to 10 for example and are driving 9 miles or less over the posted limit when it scans the speed limit sign it won't adjust the cruise control, but if you are 10 or over it will.

I look at it from this perspective. I bought it I should have the right to choose to not use the features if they are already installed and tested elsewhere which this feature is on other Fords.

It is possible that is should work on that trim. Even though it looks like the speed sensors are different from Escapes to Mavericks the functionality should be the same when enabled.

If you have a Lariat Lux, Forscan and a programming cable, pm me if you want to attempt this and I'll walk you through it best I can.
Interesting! Our 2020 escape hybrid (titanium trim) had synch 3 and recognized speed limit signs. Can’t remember if it adjusts the cruise control settings?

.... There are 2 possible settings depending if you have trailer sway control option in the vehicle assistance.

IPC
720-03-02
xxCx-xxxx

use this to change your existing setting if you have the trailer sway control as an option.
If not try different values in place of C until you get the TSR menu and no option for trailer sway control.....
Well, what do you know, it actually works!

I put a "B" in the place of "C" above, and the trailer sway control menu option went away.

So, now I am wondering ... is trailer sway control a thing I could enable? I have the hitch, but not the tow package (hybrid). Is it a thing for me?

Hmm, it appears that trailer sway control is standard equipment. I am going to put that "C" back in to re-enable that menu option.

If you bought it with the Copilot 360+ package then yes it would have since that included intelligent adaptive cruise control along with TSR in the + package.

I had no idea if that was a standard feature or feature tied to the trailer module. Apparently it is standard if that feature is on hybrids since they don't offer the tow package for them. I'll update my main post accordingly.

As far as TSR and intelligent cruise control. I had the adaptive and intelligent CC options on in the cluster. Was able to successfully select intelligent and even set the speed thresholds but that is it. I figured I could maybe make it reset cruise control speed to a speed sign anyways but it will not work with regular cruise control mode. I can't get the IPMA and BCM addresses related to ICC to work and probably will not work without also having at a minimum the speed sensor also installed.

No unless I luck into a speed sensor and mounting hardware for much cheaper than what they are currently selling for.

Maybe a stupid question but is the speed sensor the same as the radar in the ACC on the Lariat Lux? Or is it something different?
It is the same thing. Some people call it a radar sensor others like online part sites call it a speed sensor. It mounts on the front grille.

Maybe we as a forum can help figure something out. Maybe do a group fundraiser to get you the money to buy the necessary hardware.

You are looking at minimum of $900 in parts w/o any cruise control installed and somewhere around $815 if you do since you'll only need 1 steering wheel switch then instead of 2. I haven't even looked at the wiring yet that could add more to that cost depending. I am not going to sink that type of money into parts for a feature just to prove it can be done. I already have cruise control now and am good with that.
