I wish I had kept my oem bulbs. It’s so frustrating. And their response is very disappointing… “it works for some, so sorry for your bad luck”. They claimed it was canbus/hyperflash ready. Clearly not.
Just providing feedback…
I have received and installed the new bulbs in my XLT.
I have not yet had the recall update done. But the new bulbs do not function properly. Worse you might say. They go back and forth between hyper flash and normal. Even on the same instance of the signal being on...
I notice you still can’t define which is your default mode when you turn the truck on. But I wonder if you could reorder them somehow so you can then set your preferred mode to the first item. Any forscan experts have a thought?
All good - I did have to come back and clarify the result since I *HATE* when there's online problems and then no conclusion. Or a simple "nevermind it works now" with no explanation.
Thanks for your time to suggest ideas and I'm so happy with it now.
Just to follow up in case anyone else is a big dummy like me.
I connected yellow as acc and red as hot instead of the reverse which is correct. Maybe too much home wiring lately and seeing red as hot and load vs yellow made me go the other route.
with red as ACC and yellow as hot it joe...
I used the wiring mentioned here and it stayed on even with ignition off.
Out of curiosity I swapped the two non ground wires from the mirror and suddenly it functioas expected.
so not sure if there’s a typo in instructions or a change in design somewhere. But using the pins suggested here...
Quick update
1) parking mode was off. I’ve set it to “on impact” with no success. Guess I should try the time options?
2) the manual shows fuses 3 and 10 to both be 10a. But the manual for the hardwire kit says: “Note: Use an ACC power supply of 15A to 25A. Use a constant power supply...
All great info, thank you.
I will check those out when I have a bit of time to do the troubleshooting steps for each.
I do know the plug is securely into the camera, so that's not it. I also know that the cam worked fine direct to USB outlet (no hardwire) but at that time I had not yet...
Having an odd issue.
Have my dash cam with accessory and always hot with the fuse jumpers as shown in my image.
most of the time the dash cam will turn on when the truck does. Sometimes it doesn’t.
It’s so strange that it’s not consistently one or the other. Any ideas?
IN case anyone else has this issue - Life360 app was the problem. Creating an alert for when someone enters/leaves your home geo zone breaks carplay temporarily. You don't have to remove the zone/fence, instead you just have to turn off the alert.
Essentially, if I leave the radius of my home, it changes the mode to certain cameras (in my case, it is arming all the interior, while exterior is armed all the time and interior disarmed when at home). This happens automatically based on if I am detected as "at home" or "not at home".
Nice...
I do believe it's a geofence issue. While I do have wifi connected from home, this also happens when away and returning. I thought about that as well, but the point at which it glitches is not in wifi range, but is in geofence range. If I'm away, and drive in, it glitches at the exact same...
