If you need to tow more than 4k get a Tacoma if not get a Maverick.

Test drive didn’t help 😂 it drove exactly as I expected. Felt like a mid-to-high end car compared to the Tacoma. Which was what I expected, the comfort factor is a non-factor for me. I’m just just fine with my Tacoma, even if the Maverick drives significantly better that’s not a determining factor for me lol

First of all I love my little Maverick 👍👻. But I feel Ford has missed the boat on some of the things they could have did better but thats watering under the bridge. Probably drive my Maverick until Toyota comes out with the Tacoma in all wheel drive or four-wheel drive hybrid then I will trade my Maverick my on it and that will be the last truck I will ever buy.🤔 Believe me I know the price difference but also know difference in the quality. 🙂👍

If the taco is paid off or close to it and in good mechanical condition I would not be buying a vehicle new or otherwise to save few hundred dollar in fuel costs.

It’d be close to $100 a month in savings, but totally get where you’re coming from!

First of all the way Ford has a lack communication with customers in my opinion these 45-day emails wrote by a politician there is no information at all and it's like the same thing over and over.

Ford on both the 22 and 23 Maverick let there be alot more orders then they could go ahead and build trucks and that makes a lot of frustration.

The quality control and all the recalls. does not send a very good message to the customer Ford was number one in recalls in 2022 with 7.5 million recalls the next closest was Tesla with 1.5 million recalls.

Do not understand why the 22 eco was more than the hybrid but in 23 they were both price.

This this may be just me but I think they missed the boat big time not making a hybrid all-wheel drive if they can do it with their cars that have the same unibody and Hybrid engine why couldn't they do it with the Maverick . They had the base model with their cars maybe they might have had to tweak it and make a couple little changes. I just don't understand could you imagine somewhere between 20,000 and 25,000 a hybrid all-wheel drive. That's why I'm looking to the 24 or 25 all-wheel drive hybrid Tacoma 🙂

These are all just my opinions and everybody has them and I know the rest of the quote

Paid off. I would actually be pocketing about $3K in the “trade” by selling to private party and buying from private party (I have a seller lined up asking $32K for an XL with FX4 and 1500 miles, seems like a good deal).
It can't be XL and FX4. It would have to be XLT or Lariat to be FX4.

As of now, not enough Mavericks have reached 200K miles to make any kind of good reliability comparisons. Maybe in about 3 to 4 years we may get a fair comparison, but who wants to wait that long. Personally, if it were me, I would stick with the Taco and look again in a few years when the Maverick has either proved or failed to prove itself. By then, there may even be some more direct competition for the Maverick from other vehicle manufacturers.

That said, I love my Maverick.

Unless something changed, according to the ford website you can't get fx4 on an XL. It has to be an XLT or Lariat. $32k isn't a horrible markup particularly if there are any other packages included in the build.

My biggest gripe so far is the lack of select-shift on the 8AT.

Otherwise, I have been impressed in every way <2 months into my Mav. It punches WAY above it's weight class, and shows surprising levels of dynamic refinement for it's price point. I'll be hitching up my 3500-4K trailer soon, my only big test yet to happen.....really curious to see how it performs at max tow.

But so far, my 2 month 2K mile verdict is a home run for Ford. It is exactly as advertised, a very capable small truck, with many pleasant surprises baked in.

This guy already has 58k miles on his XLT lux EB! Check it out. Probably the highest mileage Maverick I know of. He says it's holding up well.

I sold my 06 SR5 PreRunner 220k miles to a Co-Worker for my Down Payment. With 6.5" lift on 20x12's and 33's, truck was really loud and rough and got a whole 14 mpg highway. already installed Bluetooth and rear camera. So I didnt really want another Tacoma because who wants a car payment for little change when what they are replacing runs fine.

I went with Maverick for its size and mpg. I really only do the home owner stuff like bags of mulch and stuff like that. Planned on getting Hybrid XL but ended up with EB AWD Lariat and don't regret it.
And I'm really more of an Import Tuner guy, but my wife insisted I get another truck. So the Maverick is the closest thing I could get to a hatchback Corolla. LOL. one of my last Scions below.

Sounds like U need to wait for the new coming soon! Toyota Hybrid truck which will be if believe what you read on the internet 🤔 it will be smaller than the Tacoma and be priced starting in the mid 20K range
Ain't happening. Hybrids are an upcharge with Toyota not standard equipment like Ford. I could see mid $20's gas engine with $3k upcharge for hybrid from Toyota. That's usually how they roll. I'd say at least 3 years out at the earliest. Probably not as easy as lopping off the back of a Corolla cross and putting in small bed. Plus supply shortage are still a thing even with Toyota they reduced their forecasted inventory every month last year and made a lot less vehicles than their own projections.

From a Maverick owner I suggest a Tacoma and it’s not even close. I would take a 10 year old Tacoma over my maverick but I’m waiting for the 2024.

Sorry, yes. It’s an XLT with Lux Package, FX4, and spray bedliner.
