I purchased a 2026 Ford Maverick XL 2.0 turbo on May 15th, 2026. On June 9th it went into the shop for the first time. It was in and out until June 29th when went in and NEVER came back out. Electrical issues. Ford has agreed to BUYBACK but gave me the middle finger when dealing with the stress, inconvenience and anger that I went through. Needless to say, I am DONE with FORD after 40 years of owning a Ford truck. This will be my last post on this site!!

Does anyone else's internal narrator scream the all CAPS words? It detracts from the story unless well placed.

But, yes, very sad. Hope the next one works out better.

This is the final year of the turbo EB in a XL. Could have been a unique “survivor” truck in 25 or 30 years. I’d say pull the trigger on another one - but at a different dealer!

Make sure to tell Ford on the review and customer satisfaction sites. Somebody will get their ass beat somewhere down the line.

Proving once again that brand loyalty is foolish. Always has been, always will be. Get what you need, not just what they serve up. No matter how loyal you are to a brand, they were never loyal to you in the first place, and never will be.

Every brand has lemons, we see these types of posts on all brands groups, forums etc. Just be glad your State has lemon laws that force buybacks and move on.

I’ve never understood joining a forum just to complain and then say “this is my last post”. Ok.
While it could be the "last post" there may yet be trolling opportunities as he was seen recently lurking....

So, "Ford has agreed to BUYBACK" - and - What more are they supposed to do?
Transaction done, adios. Perhaps they suggested that he yell at somebody else?

Kinda makes you wonder what he was expecting when he likely made it obvious that he was "DONE with FORD after 40 years ". When there is zero upside for a business, they have zero interest in making any additional accommodations. Why would they. It would be wasted effort.

I wonder if he ever managed to get a warning rather than a traffic citation... Seems unlikely.

I'm sure the guy was very pleasant to deal with, especially when he says " but gave me the middle finger when dealing with the stress, inconvenience and anger that I went through."

Sounds like a personal problem to me.
Car dealers don't have Doctor Phil available for grief counseling because a vehicle had a problem, and that's why the lemon laws are there because it happens.

Sadly, we will never know the true depth of Ford's disservice since ahallock has left the building, thus denying us any further tales of woe and helpful advice on why no one should buy a Maverick because he had a problem.

Somehow, some way, we may yet collectively manage to carry on....

I have driven Ford's for 57 years. I have owned a Chevrolet, 2 Buicks, an Oldsmobile, an AMC Jeep, a Dodge pickup, 2 Hondas and a Mazda. All those manufacturers have built Lemons at one time or another. They have all produced vehicles that should have ever been released to the public. Sometimes all those parts just don't want to work together, and they don't. It just happens.
