Hybrid +12V Battery Replacement

9 weeks since battery swap with 1 incident.

Went out of town for a week long work trip. Came home and encountered the tell tale sign of no interior lights. Drove the truck for some errands and all seems well again.

So just read though this post. My 2022 EB had the exact same issues after 4 months.

Deep sleep after a day or 2.

After driving, battery would go down to 12.4-12.2.

Loose interior and bed 12v lights

Auto start, stop would not work.

Loose time on stereo.

Did the BMS reset many times. Even put a solar trickle charger. Did help for year.

Only thing that solved it was putting a aftermarket battery 725cc 24F battery from Canadian Tire

Battery now is always at 12.6 -12.7v

I think the ford 12v suck and not up to the task with all the electronics.

Edit: I did also go into forscan under the BMS settings and specified the exact battery settings too.

Thank you for the suggestion. I park my truck in the garage though. I'm going to continue to monitor if the battery swap is the solution. So far so good.

OP here, I'm now at 3+ months since I replaced the battery on my Hybrid with a new Diehard, zero issues....

Will a battery maintainer (trickle charger) actually keep the 12V battery charged using the underhood jumpstart connection points?

I would say not consistently. I’ve done just that and then when I’m ready to come home from work it is in deep sleep. Other days it is fine.

Go to your dealer and tell them your truck won't always start and you are getting tired of jump starting it and they will get you a new 12v battery.

Probably same make and model but you might be lucky and get a better one.

Something is happening to make this inconsistent! We just don't know what. Frustrating. Wonder what the battery does if on trickle charge only for ...a month or more. And what if you leave your truck at the airport for two weeks...does it go beyond deep sleep and won't start unless jumped?

This morning my 3 month old Maverick's 12v battery left me stranded, no FordPass warning, car wouldn't unlock with key fob, had to use the key to unlock, and absolutely no power on anything. Currently sitting in parking lot waiting for tow truck to come give me a jump.

Needless to say going to dealer as soon as I can. Have had maybe 6-7 FordPass low batt warnings in the past.

Only a dashcam, but its wired to turn off with car ignition so it doesn't draw power when parked.

Have had 6-7 remote feature disabled warning from FordPass in the past, but the car always unlocked and always had power to start. I just drove the car for totalled more than 2 hours less than 18 hours ago yesterday, so it had plenty of time to charge the 12v battery up.

I was already planning to replace the OEM battery with either a deep cycle or lifepo4 pack in the future when I install a ~1500w inverter knowing how bad it is. Will try to get dealer to replace with another OEM to see if it's any better.
