So I have a early 2022 EB AWD Lariat with 4k tow with 77K Km. With the price of gas these days up in canada and going on 11 recalls, plus i just discovered rust on my roof, I am thinking of trading her in for a 2026 mav hybrid AWD 4k tow.

Only way to update the ecu is to use Ford's proprietary software. You can rent the software for $50 for the day but I have no idea what hardware you need.
Best bet is to get the dealer to update the ecu.
