Ford has been building cars since 1908. If they can't figure out how long it takes to build a new vehicle, maybe they shouldn't be telling people fall delivery. I have a car to trade in that gets worth less every month I have it, not to mention any maintenance is required while I still have it. Don't tell me fall and then say oh we meant winter next year. When accurate info is provided the decision is yours, when the decision has been taken from you is when people get pissed.
Agreed 1908 equates to a lot of experience. I've only been around since 1954 and other than the gas crisis of 1973 I've never seen commodity supply issues such as we are currently having.

Not wanting to start an argument, just tired of people making their first post on the forum as a rant/vent/whine/bitching session. FYI none of us here are happy about the delay.

I won't be replying to any response to this, see my paragraph directly above for reason.

Sounds like you had unrealistic expectations. Ford never guaranteed all hybrids would be delivered in the fall. Initial release was scheduled for the fall and they still might meet their goal.

Do people really not understand the current manufacturing issues going on, or is it just me? I would love to have my Eco in early Feb, but I wasn't going to delete items that may hold up it's build, so it's whatever.

This isn't even a new thing. Back in 79' my Dad special ordered a new Dodge pickup. All I remember about it was it was black and a dually. He probably planned on towing a 5th wheel. That thing took months and months and months to show up, to the point he had to buy something else (he needed it for work to haul a trailer to remote locations). Until the Mav that was my only experience with ordering a vehicle, so I didn't come in with speedy expectations, lol.

Right, the reality is that ordering vehicles has probably always been frustrating, with inevitable delays.
Ford, knowing that, and their current situation, releases new vehicles and promotes/introduces the marketing model of "build to order", without properly setting realistic expectations so that customers can properly plan. That, and sometimes folks need vehicles quickly.

This supply crisis aside, if competiion has product to purchase, this model may fail.

If you haven't received this yet -- it’s coming, it goes to dealers first. That way we can prep for the incoming calls. Hang in there!

Ordered my hybrid on June 17th and never received any confirmation or communication from Ford since then. Checked my junk folder today and found they emailed me last Thursday about fit package. Hopefully I get a VIN and build date soon..

Perhaps read the email.
" ... initial Hybrid deliveries expected to start in January."
Last time I checked January isn't in Fall.

I don't get what the obsession is with trying to defend Ford against all criticism and so many people claiming "no delay" until their last breath making up false statements to back it up.

My German Shepherd wants to exchange the back seat cup holder for a dog water bowl holder.
Maybe you could just fill up the FITS "Trash Bin" with water.

That shouldn't be too hard to do with a 3D printer. Ford wants us to be creative with the FITS.
