Thanks for taking the time you put into this. I haven't driven a hybrid yet but now I know what to expect when mine arrives in a couple of weeks. Much appreciated.
My scheduled build week was 4/18 and I just got the email tonight that my truck was finished on 4/25 and should be at my dealer the last week of May. XLT Lux Hybrid.
OK, I stand corrected on that part and plead ignorance since I never bought a vehicle out of state. I still chose to buy my Maverick locally to support local businesses and their employees. Others may choose to only consider the bottom line and that's certainly their choice to make.
My thoughts exactly. In addition to our peace of mind we support jobs in our communities and keep taxes paid in our states. Shop Locally is more than a slogan.
Ours should be together on the assembly line! Did you get the Lux package? If so, was it listed under the Packages tab? Click the bedliner link and see if it brings up the Drop-in instead.
Ordered a hybrid, XLT Lux, CP360, Velocity Blue on 10/12/2021. Email with 04/18/22 build date arrived 02/17/22. (Cue the happy dance music!) Info added on tracker.
Couple of observations:
Under Packages on the description it lists the 300A and FCP360 but doesn't mention the Luxury package...
That was my first thought when I started reading this post. Endoscopic photos would be the practical way to make the initial inspection. But it comes down to long term liability and customer confidence in Ford. One lost lawsuit over a fatal fire caused by a missed defect would be more expensive...
My current SUV has keyless entry, push button start, and a birdseye view camera system. All are convenient but the 4 cameras are the one thing I'll really miss on my XLT LUX Hybrid. I would definitely be willing to pay for that option.
I suppose you could tell your friend about worldwide supply and demand changes, OPEC production decisions, shipping logistics, and a few other items that are beyond the control of any President at any time. Correlation doesn't equal causation in this instance.
I wonder if Ford is trying to schedule builds to correlate with localized shipping destinations. It would make sense for them to ship a batch that has final stops in a relatively small area than a batch with widely scattered dealerships.
