How Long Do You See Yourself Keeping Your Maverick? 🚗

I’ve noticed more owners asking the same question lately—keep the Maverick they already know, or trade it while it still holds decent value

Maybe the warranty is ending, the miles are adding up, or a few repairs have made you think twice.Then you look at the price of a new truck and the higher monthly payment, and keeping the one you have starts to make more sense

A Maverick doesn’t have to be perfect to become a long-term truck. It just has to stay reliable, affordable to maintain, and useful enough that replacing it doesn’t feel worth it

Do you see yours becoming a 10-year truck, or is there a certain mileage, repair bill, or trade-in offer that would make you move on?

Realistically, I'd switch vehicles in about 1/2 million miles, when it costs more to keep it going than its worth. I've had 2 Rangers that I sold, one at 186k and one at 744k, and I expect the Hybrid Mav to be at least that good.

That's about how long I keep any car, with a couple of exceptions.

The F150 it replaced was 16 yrs old and the F150 before that was 12 yrs old or ownership on both prior vehicles. I don't have a crystal ball but believe this one (Maverick) may or should last just as long or longer. Both prior trucks were over 200.000 miles on them. Time will tell but needing reliable transportation, so as I age I may switch it out sooner, but doubt it.

Time and reliability will be the deciding factors. Besides there is no guarantee I will be alive tomorrow let alone buying new vehicles.

Hard question to answer....... IMO, depends on how Ford continues to support the product line, parts, waranty, and service. If goes it south like what was reported on Hyundai's, Kia's and other hybrid manufacturers, well, probably will sell ours before waranty ends. Otherwise will keep it till something better, and/or, still need a set of wheels to get around economically.

Until the wheels fall off and the new ones do, too. I put roughly 6,000 miles a year on it. I got rid of my last two vehicles when I hit 220,000 miles. At my current rate, I will replace my Maverick in 2059.

3rd vehicle - 2011 - 2023
4th vehicle - 2023 - ??? @ 43k miles currently

Realistically, 10 - 12 years and 150k miles, will see where EV tech gets to by that time.

We keep our vehicles 10-15 years. As a recent retiree, I should be driving a bit less with each passing year. Plus I rotate vehicles depending on my needs. The Maverick is the only automatic in my fleet so when I need the thrill of manual shifting, it will get parked. Keeping on topic here, I do plan on keeping it for a minimum of 10 years. I still own my original 1992 F-150 which is currently undergoing a full restoration at a mere 67k miles!.

100,000+ miles or 20 years.
My 2016 C-Max just reached it's 90,000 mile mark so it's good 10,000 more, even with the headliner falling apart.
My son is still rocking a 2001 Ranger with 140,000 miles.

Mine's a business lease, so in 3 years.

If I bought it for myself, until it doesnt make sense to repair it. Before my GLI, I had a 04 sentra that I put 123k miles on, and got rid of because the rust was getting to the pinch welds and it was chewing through coolant, it wasnt worth a new engine. The car before that was a 92 beretta, that was at 187k miles and it was scrapped after the rust made it impossible to repair.

My 91 just hit 47k miles, it's still in pretty good shape, a bit of rust in bad places. I'll probably keep it around for a long time yet, I cant justify $45k for a new truck and the Mav's lack of physical controls would annoy me to no end.

This. My thought process as well. If I keep at my average yearly mileage being about the same, I would be hitting the 100,000 miles at 10 years ownership. But I have let them go before at 80K miles just due to the trading itch starts around that time for me if there's something I think I would like to replace it with. The only thing that would make it sooner is if I started having fairly major issues or it started having lots of minor issues all the time which would piss me off. If I can't count on it be reliable its gonna be replaced with something else.
