Until I don't need a truck anymore, or until a better option appears, that's about it. More likely it will be the latter, 6-8 years is about how long I have kept my vehicles, but I used to buy vehicles that were 6-8 years old so maybe things will be different this time?
My mostly-highway 87 XLT had the original bulletproof German 2.8L engine and Mazda 5-speed, but 2 rads, 4 clutches, 2 driveshafts and 2 rear-ends, 5 windshields and 2 rear bumpers. The rear-end bearings were a poor design that ran on the shafts instead of a race, and the u-joints and leaf springs were undersized. Oh, and oilchanges every 2500 miles.Say what!?! 744k on a Ranger?!! How many engines and tranys did you put in it?

If our maverick is as good as my 17 year old ram i bought new and plan on keeping a few more years.....then 15-20 years.
