Glad to help a fellow Mav owner out. Fyi @dehaikin even after getting the tow hitch on, you will still require the electric part which the the 4 pin connector. If the dealer tries to replicate the factory harness, etc., it will get expensive real quick. I am working on installing the 4 pin connector in the next couple of days ***Update*** The wiring harness for the 2022 Ford Escape won't work. The connectors are slightly different. That means that the Bronco Sport wiring harness from eTrailer, with a wiring swap on the device seems like the only option. Before I order the Bronco Sport, I'm going to call the manufacturers and see what their ETA is on one for the Maverick.

As I mentioned, the tow hitch install is not complicated, just a little tedious with removing all the screws. That said, don't lose hope, this forum board will help guide you through on solutions.

Looks like I'll definitely be using your excellent instructions. My local Ford dealer wants over $500 to install the receiver. Over $700 if I want a wiring harness.

Just a reminder to those that ask why wasn’t the hitch option chosen when the Maverick was made, and here’s an honest answer. Some of us, me included, picked up a Maverick that a customer previously ordered, but canceled, or didn’t qualify for financing. I hope everyone understands that.

But Ford did kind of make it easy....order any of the LUX packages and you got the hitch included, order the 4K towing package, or check mark the box when ordering for the $100.00 hitch. Other than having a button when you submit your order that asks: "are you sure you don't want a trailer hitch", I don't see what else Ford could have done.

And if you reply, I bought one out of dealer stock...then you should have waited to buy one with a trailer hitch on it.
