Finally, I had an F150 Lightning Lariat with BlueCruise which was great. I do wish the Mav Lariat had BlueCruise in addition to Lane Keeping Assist. I wonder if this requires dedicated hardware or if it would be a software only upgrade?
I think it comes down to price scaling. The people buying a Maverick likely aren't going to be interested in paying for a BlueCruise subscription.

There's a lot of talk on here and in general, online, about how the lariat isn't "worth it" and "you're turning a 20k truck into a 50k truck" etc. But has anyone genuinely regretted getting the lariat? I'm asking for 2 reasons,

1. This is anecdotal, but I would make the decision again in a heartbeat. I love it, and i love every extra little feature it includes. I think the argument that I could get a ranger for the same price is a stupid argument because I don't need the extra capability of a ranger and I want the extra features that wouldn't come with a base model ranger. It's like asking why wouldn't someone get a mustang instead of a miata. Some people just want the miata.
2. I frequently see people spend more money modifying their trucklets to copy a Lariat than had they just gone with it in the first place. 1000$ seat covers, thousands in speaker upgrades, diy wireless charging/400w bed plug etc etc. Seems like they should have just got the lariat in the first place.
What are your guys thoughts?
As someone who went from a 22 eco-boost XLT that was fully loaded except for the FX four package. I love my 2025 Maverick the only thing I wish I could’ve had a choice for was to have some sort of cloth seats. Other than that completely worth it to me in my eyes, especially when you build out an XLT now

I love mine and wouldn't have chosen a lower trim, but I totally understand people choosing the best value instead of the best trim. My father bought a XLT Hybrid and didn't care much about the extras, he is very happy with it.

The adaptive cruise control was non-negotiable for me, also like the better sounds system and the soundproofing glass. I might have considered a lower trim if the adaptive cruise was an option.

Also the difference in price between the xlt hybrid + 4wd + lux (need heated seats) + 4k vs the Lariat + 4k was too low for me not to get Lariat.

Although I do wish the Lariat had better plastic interior versus the XL

I would have regretted buying anything BUT a Lariat. I use the bells n whistles, I enjoy the bells n whistles, I can afford the bells n whistles, so that's what I got. My car is Titanium trim so anything else that wasn't at least close to being as nice wouldn't have made me happy. I wasn't looking for and didn't buy an "inexpensive" truck, I was looking for a small truck, a hybrid, and one that can be flat towed.

After riding once in a Tesla with the auto-driving feature (someone I worked with offered to drive to lunch) I will never drive in a "self-driving" car again no matter who the manufacturer is. The Tesla was crazy hyper-aggressive weaving in and out of traffic changing lanes way too much. If I saw someone doing this I'd be thinking "what a reckless driver" (among other things). I was embarrassed to be in the car. Told him to turn it off half-way to our destination or I was getting out and walking. He said he could turn it down, but I wasn't having any of it.

I'm glad the Maverick doesn't have this as an option.

I don't regret purchasing the Lariat over the food-stamp editions (XL/XLT) one bit. The Lariat is in a class of its own.

Regret compared to what?

When I bought mine, I spent 33k on a Lariat Lux AWD with FX4 and moon roof. Financed 29k at 0% for 36 months.

Today, with the increased price and interest, I wouldn't buy one. I'd go with a Ranger.

YES! I like the cruise assist and the lane keeping assistance very much, to me they make a longer trip less taxing but there's no way I'm going to give up the responsibility for the safety of myself, my loved ones, and the other drivers around me.

I'm super happy with my Lariat but I I have the Tremor itch now.
If I didn’t care about getting good gas mileage I’d probably look into a tremor, but I’m more than happy with my hybrid… for now.

I purchased a Lariat FX4 4K package. I don't regret it but will acknowledge that it is overpriced. It is a very nice cheap truck but it's still a cheap truck. For that premium it should have came with a power passenger seat, memory seats, auto dimming rearview mirror, LEDs all around. And I'm not a fan of Ford locking safety features like adaptive cruise control and Lane centering behind the highest trim package. Ford can charge a high premium because they're the only game in town if you want a compact truck. And the black appearance package is another overpriced option, it's all just trim and paint. You know what the cheapest color is in the manufacturing world....BLACK!

Great point. I got the first 3 years for free in the Lightning and I really enjoyed it. Not sure if I would enjoy it NEARLY as much for $50 per month - or whatever they are charging.

No. I've had a 2023 XLT+Lux Tremor and a 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid and they aren't even comparable. Maverick is too compromised of a platform to take full advantage of advanced AWD. For less than $5k I moved up to my AWD Lariat Hybrid and it feels like an entirely different vehicle.

I assume you haven’t used BlueCruise. Just to clarify - it isn’t autonomous at all. If you look away from the windshield, it screams at you! You have to be fully in control of your vehicle.

I agree that anything truly autonomous would scare the hell out of me, and I believe that technology is a long way off from a safety standpoint.
I can tell you that Blue Cruise does make long drives more relaxing.

Kinda true, if your thing is crawling or mudding, but if you want to go fast on smoother dirt surfaces the Tremor can work well. Subaru has sold a lot of vehicles based on safety and awd that have similar ground clearance and approach/departure angles to the Tremor.

I'm also curious to see what people do with the Lobo since low ground clearance and unibody construction are not limiting factors for street performance.
